  • A photo showing a large embroidered flame on black denim. The flame extends from a burning SUV. On the right side of the photo, my hand is shown holding a needle with thread.ALT

Feels appropriate to continue working on this particular piece this weekend.

  • Working on something new - again on denim, as I enjoy embroidering this particular material the most (so far). Also, this will be a badass jacket once it’s done.

  • Cash Please: A Game about Sex Work

Remember this little prototype I’ve helped create five years ago?

I’m excited to announce that today, our team started the process of turning it into a proper game! More infos will follow soon.

Just finished this new piece which I’ve been working on the last few months to… well, process things.

  • A close-up of an embroidery frame with black cloth. There's text embroidered on the cloth, a quote: You cannot kill us in a what that matters. The first couple of letters are already pretty much done, the rest needs more refining.ALT

Turns out embroidering letters is quite difficult, but it feels like I’m (slowly) getting better at it.

  • I’m making good progress on a new #embroidery project. Using thin cloth takes some getting used to after the denim jacket, but I really enjoy exploring fiber art and learning by doing.

A photo of me holding a large embroidery frame with black cloth in front of my head. The subject matter is an animal skull with mushrooms and plants growing out of it. The embroidery is unfinished, but already shows a lot of details, consisting of finely stitched lines.ALT

A close up of the finished work: An embroidered stag beetle, shown from the top, on the back of a dark grey jeans jacket. Behind the beetle's head, there's a golden circle, reminiscent of the sun.ALT
A photo of me, a slender person with fair skin and short hair. I'm shown from behind, looking to the left and smiling brightly. I'm standing in front of a lush green environment, wearing the embroidered denim jacket.ALT
A photo of the entire jacket, showing the placement and the size of the embroidered stag beetle.ALT

After several months of work, I finished this embroidery project yesterday. It’s my second ever attempt at embroidery and I’m really, really happy with the result.

Also, a few weeks ago, my partner and I did a little photoshoot at a nearby park with the previous iteration (which is identical except for the golden circle).

Thank you so much, everyone, for your kind words and interest in this piece! I honestly never expected this much encouragement, and am… slightly overwhelmed. I’m already working on something new, but it will likely take several months to finish, too. Until then, I might post some progress pictures or doodles.

Again, thank you! It’s wonderful to be welcomed to the fabric art community with open arms.

Today I realised that there are a few highlights in my archive I’ve never uploaded due to the long (terms of policy-induced) hiatus of this blog.

So here’s an adaptation of Jewel Staite’s “this is me reading your mean tweets” post I’m still very fond of. Adjusted to my… slightly more limited resources.

Yet another tattoo design for my best friend who is slowly, but surely turning into my personal canvas.
