>Opinions on Subbing vs. Dubbing
Mechaboy is unconcerned with dialog. The design is all.
H-Man has become deaf as a result of certain practices too embarrassing
to relate. He favors closed captioning.
The Brain was psychically scarred by bad dubbing at a tender age. He
will collapse in spastic agony at the mere mention of dubbing.
The Loon is enamoured of bad dubbing, and has been known to wax
eloquent in favor of G-Force.
The Fanboy thinks that anime should "stay in the original English" and
can't fanthom why they're translating his favorite shows into
Japanese only to subtitle them with distracting subtitles.
>Favorite Comedy
Mechaboy doesn't do comedy. He's thinking of becoming a con organizer.
H-Man loves Minky Momo for reasons that would get him arrested in most
southern states.
The Brain loves his Tyler.
The Loon finds Legend of Galactic Heroes hilarous.
The Fanboy likes whatever makes him look knowledgable in front of
his friends.
>Favorite Mecha
Mechaboy likes Armoured Hunter Votoms for the realism.
H-Man likes Space Battleship Yamato for phallic symbolism.
The Brain loves Patlabor the Movie for it's obscure symbolism.
The Loon thinks Goldlightan represents the last great stand of
Mecha.
The Fanboy likes anything that will impress his friends with his
superior knowledge.
>Favorite Shoujo
MechaBoy insists that he doesn't watch "gurl's stuff", but sneaks X manga and
the Rose of Versailles when he thinks that no-one is watching.
H-Man strongly approves of yaoi themes, and buys a lot of shoujo doujinshi.
The Brain reads shoujo manga that neither you nor I recognize.
The Loon is a raving Ribon no Hime-Chan fanatic, and has been known
to sacrifice small animals to his goddess.
The Fanboy watches Ah! My Goddess and Kimagure Orange Road, and is quite proud
that he watches "shojo".
>
Love Triangles
Mechaboy hates soap opera, and absolutely despises it when love interests take
up screen time that could be better dedicated to highly animated fight scenes
invving chopped mecha.
H-Man approves of menage a' troi on general principles, but feels that most
love triangles spend entirely too much time arguing and not enough time....
ahem.
The Brain is vaguely suspicious of soap opera, but is generally a sucker
for melodramatic character interaction of any type.
The Loon liked the Camille-Char-Amuro triangle in Zeta.
The Fanboy is still obsessing over Minmay.
>
Death Speeches
Mechaboy thinks that they detract from on-screen combat time.
H-Man is still trying to find something salacious about last words.
The Brain complains about unrealistic, long, pedantic speeches, but has
been caught on numerous occasions crying during Zeta Gundam.
The Loon likes to play with dead things, and has been known to take
giggly walks through graveyards, laughing at the inscriptions.
The Fanboy thinks that death speeches are wonderful examples of
characterization at it's best.
