Ruby Central, Inc. is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker for the Fourth International Ruby Conference will be Brad Cox, inventor of the Objective-C language. Brad will speak on "The History and Design of Objective C".
	Brad's interests are in digital rights management, reconceptualizing universities as interactive distributed learning communities, and software engineering. Most of his recent work is in XML, Java, Ruby, Python and Perl. Before those, he mainly used the language he invented early in his career, Objective-C. We are thrilled to have such an expert in dynamic languages give us an important historical and theoretical perspective.

We are thrilled to announce a special gift from The Pragmatic Programmers to the Ruby community:

As a thank-you to the community, the Pragmatic Programmers will give each of the first 50 (fifty) people to register for RubyConf 2004 a FREE COPY of the second edition of "Programming Ruby" ("Pickaxe2").
