gCount was a menu bar and/or Dock item that displayed the unread status of the inbox of a Gmail account. With the news of Google releasing their own Gmail Notifier for Mac OS X, I've decided to stop gCount development. I am confident that their product will be great. Thank you for your support and kind words, it was a pleasure developing for y'all.

My only gripe with Gmail Notifier is that the menu bar icons are not remotely Mac OS X-menu-bar-like, and I'd like to think that the gCount icons were. Case in point:

I've contacted Google and given them permission to use the artwork from gCount, but I don't expect them to. Fortunately, it's trivial to replace Gmail Notifier's artwork with gCount's. I may release a small application to make this easier. In the meantime, you can dig around their respective package contents and swap image files.

For nostalgia, the old gCount page will stay up.
