Hi, I'm NebulaCoffee!
I'm a pixel artist/hobbyist games designer. I've worked on a number of game jam projects, and I'm currently working on a small scale RPG project called Skull Arena.
If you want to check out bits of pixel art I've done, or see some updates on my game projects, follow me on BlueSky - https://bsky.app/profile/nebulacoffee.itch.io
Current projects:
Skull Arena is the main project I'm working at the moment. It's essentially a practice attempt at making a turn-based RPG combat system which kind of evolved to become it's own thing. At the moment there's just a demo available, but I'm hoping to expand it, and use what I've learned from this project to create a full RPG.
Projects I've contributed to:
Mask or Monster is a Papers Please style game with a Halloween theme made for GGJ2026. I drew the pixel art and helped with the design and playtesting.
Jam projects:
Glass Shards is a horror visual novel/life sim I did for Scream Jam 2025. I'm pretty happy with the end result, although some of the pixel art isn't too great. The player has to life their life balancing needs like energy and mood whilst also dealing with a growing number of tiny glass shards in their home. I intended it to act as a metaphor for living with anxiety and depression, and how that can slowly overwhelm you over time.
Loop 9 is a Roguelike shmup I did for GMTK 2025. The basic concept is that you are stuck in a time loop, and must use materials dropped by destroyed enemy ships to upgrade your own until you are strong enough to defeat the final boss. It's a bit janky, and I'm not too happy with the pixel art I did for it, but it was pretty fun to develop. I don't think I did a good job with onboarding the player, as it isn't super clear that you don't actually have any weapons to start off with.
Make My Monster Grow is a very simple Power Rangers themed Vampire Survivors clone I made for GMTK 2024. It's extremely janky, and the pixel art is really rough, but I had a lot of fun with the concept. I also had a lot of fun writing the dialogue.
