I'm glad this isn't being down voted into oblivion because it's a very valid observation. While I can't speak about how past updates were handled because I'm fairly new here, I do think it's worth mentioning that a lot of us (patrons included) are in the complete dark about this one. No news, no posts from Kael, nothing.
While I personally don't care about a delay, I do agree that there should be some form of accountability especially when money is involved. The higher tier patrons got their alpha build at the beginning of last month but the lower tiers who get the beta version are still waiting despite having already paid for that month.
The Echo Project, for example, had paused payments on Patreon because there were no new builds being released for that month. An excellent and very professional way of handling a content drought. Sure, it sucks that there's no new builds but they're also not charging you for not releasing anything.
And again, I'm not trying to hate on Kael. I do not mind waiting. I'll gladly continue to support the project on Patreon. But, a simple: "Hey guys, update is delayed for x/y/z, new date is TBA, sorry to keep you all waiting etc. etc." in advance is not hard to do. Going completely silent on all channels is just kinda... idk man. Unprofessional is the best word I can think of.
And if Kael stops by to check the comments: By all means, take all the time in the world to finish the update. Life happens and I'm sure everyone (I hope) will have no problem understanding that. We're also NOT entitled to anything so don't feel like you're letting us down. While I'm sure there will be some who don't share that way of thinking, at the end of the day, it's true. We can not force updates out of you and we have no right to do so. However, from your patrons and probably everyone else, we'd at least prefer some more communication. That's all.
P.S. stop by the discord sometime so your loving community can help cheer you up :) ... and don't shut yourself out. It never helps.
