2026 - 49ers Cares Updates

Levi's® Stadium & the Economic Impact on Santa Clara

Levi's® Stadium & the Economic Impact on Santa Clara

Levi's® Stadium was envisioned as more than a venue — it was designed to be an economic engine for Santa Clara, and by every measure, it has delivered.

Since opening, Levi's® Stadium has generated over $2 billion in direct economic activity for the region and supported more than 12,000 jobs across the industries of hospitality, construction, security and food service. In fact, workers have earned more than half a billion dollars in wages from Levi's® Stadium since it opened. Events at the stadium inject millions into the local economy, with visitors filling Santa Clara hotels, restaurants, and shops from the university to the Great America corridor.

And the stadium continues to pay off for Santa Clara taxpayers, generating $51.6 million in lifetime revenue to the City general fund through rent, facility fees, and tax receipts that directly fund city services.

Levi's® Stadium has also earned recognition as one of the best venues in the world — and a magnet to draw top-tier events, global brands, and international visitors to our city year after year.

We don't just play here. We help build here.

49ers Cares: Giving Back to Santa Clara

49ers Cares: Giving Back to Santa Clara

Through 49ers Cares, we invest year-round in the programs, people, and initiatives that make Santa Clara a stronger, more equitable community.

Some of our biggest moments have included:

  • A $3.8 million renovation of Townsend Field at Buchser Middle School, alongside the Bay Area Host Committee and NFL Foundation. This represents the single largest contribution in Foundation history.
  • $300,000 to the Santa Clara Swim Center
  • $150,000 to the Bill Willson Center
  • $150,00 to the City of Santa Clara's grants program
  • Events with 49ers players and Santa Clara youth and community members
  • Sponsorships and partnerships with amazing Santa Clara organizations including the Santa Clara Schools Foundation, Santa Clara Library Foundation, Santa Clara Firefighters Firehouse Run, Santa Clara Lions Foundation, Santa Clara Police Athletic League and the Santa Clara Parade of Champions

We are grateful for every partner, volunteer, and community member who makes this work possible.

Thank you for being part of the Santa Clara community we are proud to call home.

FIFA World Cup 2026: The Next Great Chapter

FIFA World Cup 2026: The Next Great Chapter

The best is still to come.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring matches to the Bay Area, with Levi's® Stadium serving as one of the host venues for the most-watched sporting event in human history. The FIFA World Cup draws a combined global audience exceeding 5 billion viewers — and Santa Clara will once again be at the center of it all.

The Bay Area Host Committee has projected $500M+ in economic impact from the event that will go to support local jobs, businesses and workers around the Bay Area.

We are actively working with city leadership, the Bay Area Host Committee, and regional partners to ensure Santa Clara is ready — in infrastructure, hospitality, and public safety— to host the world. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and the 49ers organization is committed to making sure our city gets its moment.

Super Bowl LX: Santa Clara on the World Stage

Super Bowl LX: Santa Clara on the World Stage

On February 8, 2026, the world's eyes were on Santa Clara.

Super Bowl LX at Levi's® Stadium was a landmark moment — not just for the 49ers organization, but for every resident and business owner in this city. Hundreds of thousands of visitors traveled to the Bay Area in the weeks surrounding the game, with Santa Clara serving as the epicenter of one of the most-watched sporting events on the planet.

And we could not have done it without the support of our local hotels, restaurants, retailers, and businesses, who all helped to make sure that this was a special moment for the Bay Area. The Bay Area Host Committee estimated the Super Bowl delivered a $500+ million economic impact to the greater Bay Area — a significant portion of which flowed directly into Santa Clara.

Beyond the numbers, Super Bowl LX placed Santa Clara in front of a global audience of more than 120 million viewers. Our city, our stadium, and our community were seen by the world. That visibility is an investment in Santa Clara's reputation that no marketing budget could replicate.

We are deeply proud to have brought that moment home.
