I'm a writer and blogger based outside Austin, Texas. I wrote Under Rolling Stars and I'm currently working on my first original high fantasy. I'm passionate about gaming, writing, animation, and metal music. In my free time, I enjoy coffee, hiking, photography, learning to draw, and heavily modding games like Skyrim and Fallout 4. I share my home with my dog Theo. I dream of road-tripping across continents and living the vanlife.

I’m Matt Coleman, a writer, blogger and web developer based outside Austin, Texas. The simplest version is that I make things on the web and write stories, essays and personal archives. The fuller version is that I spent years looking for a place broad enough to hold the things I kept returning to, then eventually understood that I would have to build it myself.
That is how I arrived at Mattology. It did not begin as a tidy brand, a portfolio or a clean professional lane. It grew out of writing, tinkering, collecting fragments, rebuilding websites, getting lost in fictional worlds and trying to understand why some places stayed with me long after I left them. Mattology is the current shape of that habit: gathering the pieces, arranging them with care and refusing to throw away the strange, personal or obsessive parts just because they do not fit neatly elsewhere.

This is Theo. He is my new best friend. Less than a week ago, he was at a pound in San Antonio, just moments away from being euthanized. A woman pulled him out at the last minute and fostered him for a few days, then drove him to a rescue in Leander. We found him there just a couple days later.
He is two years old and has a heart of gold. Playful, sweet, and genuinely happy to be here. He is remarkably easy to work with. A single “no” is usually all it takes, and he redirects without hesitation.
