Abell 2029（A2029）は、おとめ座にある約10億6000万光年（326メガパーセク）離れた大きな銀河団である[4]。
Abell 2029は、非常に大きな銀河であるIC 1101を中心にしたバウツ・モルガン分類のI型およびエイベル・カタログのグループ2に属する銀河団で[5]、直径は580万から800万光年に渡る。IC 1101はこの銀河団のcD銀河かつ最も明るい銀河（英: Brightest cluster galaxy, BCG）であり、近くの銀河に接近・吸収することでこの規模の大きさに成長した可能性がある[6]。
この銀河団は、光学的には緩和状態に見えるが、X線による観測では、スロッシングによって生じた渦巻構造が見られ、銀河団ガスの複雑な内部運動を示している[7]。また、北に37′離れた位置に、Abell 2029よりも規模の小さい銀河団のAbell 2033が存在する[8]。
