4 March 2005 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award
The ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award for 2004 has gone to Boaz Barak for his dissertation, Non-Black-Box Techniques in Cryptography, nominated by the Weizmann Institute of Science. Congratulations to Boaz Barak and to the field of computational complexity for another success!
A look at the list of previous winners made me think that the last recipient of the award whose work was somewhat close to mine was Kenneth McMillan. I hope that future graduates will change this by winning the award for work in semantics, logic in computer science, or concurrency theory.
