The evolution of computers over the past 30 years is one of the most remarkable stories of mankind’s endeavours in science, and the story is still unfolding. Young people starting now can be assured that the computers in 30 years time will be nothing like what we have today. How exciting to be part of that process! Do join me in my Polelo Research Group. We have funding from the NRF, Microsoft Research and the local companies, as well as a Bilateral Agreement with the Politechnic of Milan, Italy, and collaborations with Germany, Canada and Scotland. We work on frameworks for distributed systems through which we can prolong the life of software by interchanging components. In 2006, our emphasis will be on software construction with a new language, Spec#, and on frameworks for high performance computing..For fun, view my gadget collection or the beautiful view from my office.
