Welcome to POPL 2006

POPL is the ACM SIGPLAN - SIGACT Symposium on Principles of Programming Languages.

Hotel deadline extended to December 19th!!  Time is running out.

Registration is now open!  To register, please go to our registration site.  Don't delay!  The VMCAI and PADL affliated events have separate registration.

We recommend staying at the Charleston Place Hotel, which is where the conference will be held.  Our group rate for the hotel is $155/night.  (This does not include the 12.5% state tax on hotels.)  Please mention the group name "ACM POPL 2006 Conference" when reserving a room.  You may reserve rooms by phone, fax or email, but not using the web.

The instructions for final submission of accepted papers are here. The deadline is 15 November.  The standard page limit is 12 pages, but authors can buy up to two more pages for 100 dollars per page.  Don't forget the copyright form!

Scope of the Conference

The annual Symposium on Principles of Programming Languages is a forum for the discussion of fundamental principles and important innovations in the design, definition, analysis, transformation, implementation and verification of programming languages, programming systems, and programming abstractions. Both experimental and theoretical papers on principles and innovations are welcome, ranging from formal frameworks to reports on practical experiences.

Submissions on a diversity of topics are sought, particularly ones that identify new research directions. POPL 2006 is not limited to topics discussed in previous symposia. Authors concerned about the appropriateness of a topic may communicate by electronic mail with the program chair prior to submission.
