Curriculum Vitae

Employment

I am a Research Fellow in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Aberdeen. I am supported by an EPSRC research grant awarded to Professor Ran Levi.

Research

My research interests are in algebraic topology. I am currently interested in studying p-local properties of classifying spaces of finite groups. This involves fusion systems and p-local finite groups, but also stable homotopy theory of p-completed classifying spaces.

Preprints and Papers

Alternative Stable Homotopy Classification of BG^p, to appear in Topology [dvi] [ps] [pdf]
Classifying Spectra for Saturated Fusion Systems, to appear in Algebr. Geom. Topol. [dvi] [ps] [pdf]
A Segal Conjecture for p-completed classifying spaces [dvi] [ps] [pdf]
Retractive transfers and p-local finite groups [dvi] [ps] [pdf]

Slides

Since my subject is rather technical, I often find myself having to use slides when giving talks. Unfortunately this is not very conducive to note-taking, but I try to compensate by posting the slides here.

A Segal Conjecture for p-completed classifying spaces, MIT Topology Seminar, November 2005 [dvi] [ps] [pdf]

Here are some notes from a lecture series I gave from October 2004 to February 2005. The lectures were based in part on my thesis Frobenius transfers and p-local finite groups but also covered classifying spectra of saturated fusion systems.
