My research in the past few years focused on ontology engineering, including automatic ontology mapping and schema matching, ontology inference, and ontology visualization. In ontology mapping research, I improved previous approaches by better combining multiple mapping strategies using meta-learning. For ontology inference, my colleagues and I designed an efficient algorithm to perform RDF(S) reasoning on relational database. For ontology visualization, we proposed a novel approach to visualize large-scale ontologies in a holistic way. I also participated in and later led the development of an integrated ontology engineering environment called ORIENT. Please see my publications for the details.
I'm also interested in many other artificial intelligence areas, such as machine learning, knowledge representation, and natural language understanding. Among them, I'm especially interested in those biologically inspired ones, which I wish to explore more in the future.
