WES in action |
WES-CS is an innovative program that provides motivated students the opportunity to learn Computer Science in a challenging but friendly environment. WES-CS students enroll in a special discussion section of the first course for Computer Science majors (CompSci 201), and meet in small groups once a week for two hours each time. Each meeting is led by a Team Leader (an outstanding previous 201 student), and involves working in groups on interesting problems designed to help you really understand and enjoy the topics taught in class.
UWM is one of eight schools implementing this program and Fall 2007 is its second semester at UWM. Students who took WES-CS in Fall 2006 found it really rewarding and helpful. The same has been true at the other schools implementing the program.
