conference on: PARALLEL AND DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING March 13-15, 1995 THE CONFERENCE Kuwait University, Department of Mathematics in collaboration with Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) will hold a 3-day Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing from March 13 to March 15, 1995. The Conference will have invited talks by prominent international researchers in these fields who will bring to the participants the latest state-of-the-art in these two important areas of computer science. Besides invited talks, there will be contributed presentations. The Conference is specially intended to bring together academicians, researchers and others interested in the areas of Parallel and Distributed Computing from G.C.C. countries, in particular, and other countries, for exchange and acquaintance with the latest state-of-the-art in those areas. INVITED TALKS The following distinguished scientists have accepted to give invited talks at the Conference. Prof. David J. Evans (Loughborough University of Technology, UK): Parallel Agorithms for Solving Linear Systems of Equations. Prof. Ulrich Hofmann (University of Salzburg, Austria): Quasi-static Load Sharing in Computer Networks. Prof. Michel Raynal (IRISA, France): Analyzing and Debugging Distributed Executions. Prof. Ahmed Sameh ( University of Minnesota, USA): CEDAR: An Experiment in Parallel Computing. CONTRIBUTIONS Contributions are solicited for presentation at the Conference in the general areas of Parallel and Distributed Computing. The Conference will strive to cover the following aspects: Theory Software Techniques Hardware Algorithms Applications Programming Author(s) should submit four copies of extended abstracts not exceeding 1000 words. The abstract must clearly indicate the area of the paper, the main contribution and results (if applicable). It should include the title, name, affiliation, complete address followed by the abstract. The abstracts should be received by the Conference Co-ordinator not later than October 30, 1994. Contributions for presentation at the Conference will be refereed. Accepted abstracts will be included in the Conference Proceedings to be distributed at the Conference. Authors of presented papers at the Conference will be given the opportunity of having their papers considered for publication in the Journal of the University of Kuwait (Science) which is planning a special issue on the Conference proceedings. The full version of the presented paper should be received by the Journal not later than April 30, 1995. The Journal's information to authors will be sent to authors of accepted abstracts.
