P&E SIC Areas of Interest: -------------------------- The areas of interest to this committee encompass all performance issues, including but not limited to performance measurements (benchmarks), performance models, performance tools, and performance tuning of applications and operating systems. Any paper relevant to performance and evaluation of Cray Research and/or Silicon Graphics supercomputer systems is invited. Below is a non-comprehensive list of current topics of interest for the CUG P&E SIC. * Benchmark Design * Data Gathering Techniques * Performance Measurement * Performance Evaluation * Performance Models * T90, T3E, C90, J90(se), Origin-2000, PowerChallenge, etc * Single Systems and Clusters * System Architecture Analysis * CPU, Memory, and I/O Sub-Systems Evaluation * Network Performance Analysis * Application Performance Analysis and Tuning * Workload Performance Analysis and Tuning * Operating System Software Performance and Tuning (a joint session with the OS SIC is planned) * Compilers and Performance Tools (a joint session with the S/W Tools SIC is planned) Additionally, specific requests were made at the previous CUG for papers which were of a more tutorial nature appropriate to an audience of sites which have just purchased their first and only supercomputer. More Information: ----------------- For a paper to be considered for the conference, a suitable title and a brief abstract, 100 words or less, should be submitted to the Chair and Deputy Chair (above) by the deadline. The paper in a form suitable for publication in the conference proceedings must be turned in at the CUG meeting. A/V requirements should be submitted with the abstract.
