New Type Specialiser, July 98

I have made a new version of my type specialiser, with several improvements which make it both more powerful and easier to use.

Syntactic sugar for function definitions.
letrec replaces fix.
Named n-ary constructors are available in both static and dynamic versions.
The void erasing post-processor is replaced by a more general type-based arity raiser.
Some improvements in error messages.
Numerous bugs have been fixed.

If you want to play with a type specialiser, play with this one. On the other hand, this version is still highly experimental software, and is no better engineered than the last one.

The source code, as a compressed tar file containing Haskell modules to be compiled with hbc.

A collection of exercises illustrating the type specialiser's capabilities. (Also dvi).

You can try out the specialiser on small examples using the demo below: just type the expression to specialise in the window.
