Mar. 13, 2007

The proceedings for FOAL 2007 are now availble. If you want to have a copy at the workshop, please download the proceedings and print it for yourself. You can access individual papers from the agenda for the 2007 workshop, including slides from the presented talks.

Feb. 9, 2007

Formatting instructions for authors of FOAL 2007 papers are available. This gives details on copyright and formatting for accepted papers. Final versions of accepted papers are due by 23:00 GMT, 1 March 2007. Soon afterwards, attendees can check here to get their own copy of the proceedings.

Feb. 6, 2007

The papers selected for FOAL 2007 have been announced. Also, Harold Ossher has agreed to give an invited talk, titled "Foundations of Concern Manipulation". Remember to register, which you must do in order to attend the workshop. See you in Vancouver!

Dec. 6, 2006

FOAL 2007 has been approved as a workshop at AOSD 2007. The workshop will take place on March 13, 2007 in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are pleased to have again assembled an excellent program committee, led by Shmuel Katz. As described in the FOAL 2007 call for papers, submissions are due January 10, 2007.

FOAL 2006 in Bonn was a great success; thanks to the participants and to the program committee, and especially to Mira Mezini, the program committee chair. Slides from the presentations are now available on the agenda.

The 2006 FOAL Workshop has been approved by AOSD 2006 conference organizers. So the workshop will once again by held in conjunction with the International Conference on Aspect-Oriented Software Development. We are very pleased to have Professor Mira Mezini as the chair of another excellent program committee. The call for papers is also ready.

The early registration deadline for the AOSD conference has been pushed back to 20 Feb 2005.

The program committee has selected the papers for presentation at FOAL 2005. Authors of accepted papers have been notified. Final copies of accepted papers are due by 1 March 2005.

Firm dates for FOAL 2005 have been set. The workshop will be held on Monday, 14 March 2005, in conjunction with AOSD 2005 in Chicago, USA. FOAL solicits papers on all areas of formal foundations of AOP languages. Submissions are due by 16 January 2005. Please see the call for papers for details on contributing to FOAL 2005.

FOAL 2005 has been approved and will be held in conjunction with AOSD 2005 in Chicago, USA, on Monday, 14 March, or Tuesday, 15 March 2005. An outstanding group of researchers have agreed to serve on the program committee. Please see the preliminary call for papers for information on contributing to FOAL 2005.

FOAL 2004 was held in conjunction with AOSD 2004 in Lancaster, UK, on Tuesday, 23 March 2004. The proceedings and the slides of James Riely’s invited talk are available.

The early registration deadline for the AOSD conference has been pushed back to [20] Feb 2005. Because of this, the FOAL organizers have decided to extend the workshop submittal deadline. Papers are now due on Friday, 21 Jan. 2005. Please see the updated call for papers for more information on contributing to FOAL 2005.

Planning is now underway for FOAL 2005, to be held in conjunction with AOSD 2005 in Chicago. Researchers interested in participating on the program committee for FOAL 2005 are invited to contact the organizers.

Submissions for FOAL 2004 are due today. Papers will be distributed to the program committee members as soon as possible. Authors will be notified of acceptance decisions by Feb. 9, 2004.

We are starting to plan for FOAL 2004, to be held at Lancaster, UK in conjunction with AOSD 2004, on March 22 or 23, 2004. Ralf Lämmel (CWI and Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam) has agreed to be the PC chair for this workshop. Gary T. Leavens and Curtis Clifton are taking on the organizational duties again this year.

FOAL 2003 was held at Northeastern University in Boston on March 17, 2003, in conjunction with AOSD 2003. The workshop was well attended and some exciting preliminary results were reported. Look for a summary article on the workshop results in the coming weeks.

The FOAL 2003 program committee has selected 9 papers to be presented at the workshop. A preliminary schedule for the workshop will be posted soon. Authors of accepted papers should submit final versions by March 1, 2003.
