John Robinson & Associates, market leading supplier of Ada training and consulting services, celebrate their 14th anniversary in 1999. Formed as Knowledge Base Services Ltd (KBSL) in 1985, the company has trained over 1600 delegates in Ada and related technologies and have built a reputation for delivering effective and pragmatic Ada training focussed on design style and philosophy rather than language basics. The company's commitment to Ada, and track record in delivering Ada training of exceptional quality, is unrivalled.
John Robinson & Associates offer a public schedule of Ada courses for newcomers to Ada and for Ada 83 programmers who wish to upgrade to Ada 95. Attendees at these public courses are provided with an Ada-enabled laptop for the duration of the course, and are welcome to make use of this equipment outside of the core course hours should they wish to do so.
Courses are also held on-site at clients' premises and can be readily tuned to meet the precise requirements of each individual client. Courses may make use of in-house compilers. Alternatively, John Robinson & Associates are able to supply compilers for installation on client PCs or even provide Ada-enabled laptops for the duration of the course. No additional charges are made for either service.

Since 1986, OFFIS delivers Ada courses ranging from 2 days tutorials to two weeks in-depth courses with exercises. The courses are based on a software engineering approach with Ada rather than on a feature by feature study of the language.
Courses may be given for a mixed audience (people from multiple companies attending) or specifically for one company targetting their particular needs. In this case they can be given on-site.
The course material covers the Ada 83 language; the Ada 95 extensions can be presented separately if required.

Ada Distilled (pdf format) by Richard Riehle is aimed at experienced programmers who want to learn Ada at the programming level. The book summarizes some key features of the Ada language that are essential for getting started. Think of this a quick-start book, one that enables the experienced programmer to get into the Ada language quickly and easily.
General Information on How to Learn Ada as well as Free Ada Textbooks are available on the AdaIC server.
