Since the time to acquire Visas to enter the US is longer than usual right now, we strongly encourage international visitors to ensure they have completed the proper paperwork as soon as possible.

POPL is the ACM SIGPLAN - SIGACT Symposium on Principles of Programming Languages.

POPL is a forum for the discussion of fundamental principles and important innovations in the design, definition, analysis, and implementation of programming languages, programming systems, and programming abstractions. Submissions on a diversity of topics are sought and both practical and theoretical papers are welcome. POPL '03 is not limited to topics discussed in previous symposia or to formal approaches. In fact, papers that point out new directions are encouraged.

The deadline for the submission of papers has passed.

This year the conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, Louisiana. Registration will be available in November, 2002, and the conference dates are January 15-17, 2002.

POPL'03 will have three afilliated workshops:

The organizers of the conference hope to see you at the start of Mardi Gras season in vibrant New Orleans next year!
