Homework Description

Homework is worth 20% of your grade in this course. There will be 4 homeworks distributed over the semester. Two before the midterm and two afterwards. Each of these will be worth 5% of your grade. These will become available at least 2 weeks before the due date of the homework.

Homework Submission

Please bring a printed version to the class for on the due date. Please also send an e-mail to hridesh@cs.iastate.edu with ONLY your hw0n.tex file attached with the e-mail. Please have the subject of the e-mail read exactly [Fall-08-541-HW0n], where n is in {1,2,3,4}. These instructions apply for all homework unless specified otherwise. So for hw 1 e-mail only your hw01.tex with the subject line [Fall-08-541-HW01] and so on.

Homework Deliverables, Due Dates and Weight (% of class grade)

• Homework 1: 5% (Due on Sept 11, 2008 at 12:40pm CST)
• Homework 2: 5% (Due on Oct 14, 2008 at 12:40pm CST)
• Homework 3: 5% (Due on Nov 20, 2008 at 12:40pm CST)

Format for Homework

These deliverables must be prepared using LaTeX. We require you to use LaTeX as the operational semantics, type systems, and meta-theory can be easily typeset using this typesetting system.
