The following miscellaneous collection of links may be useful to the
CS grad student community. If you have any suggestions of links to
include here, please email us and we will gladly include them!
- Three links for the Computer Engineers:
- The Association for Computing
Machinery (ACM) has a student chapter here at the University. Their
web site can be found here.
- The University of Virginia Linux Users Group has a
mailing list.
- To enroll, manage, or renew your student health insurance, go to
the Aetna Student Health web site. You should plan to renew each August. UVa's school ID number is 812806.
-
Engineering School Budget Office can tell you when teaching and research assistants should
receive your paychecks.
- David Coppit's dissertation template can be found
on the code page of his web site. He has agreed to keep them
available there for the foreseeable future.
- David Tarjan has put together a
nice explanation on how to
get a physical copy of your masters/Ph.D. dissertation printed.
- Patrick Graydon has prepared a thesis template for those using FrameMaker.
- It doesn't exist yet, but we have talked about putting together
a collection of example Ph.D. proposals as a guide for newer
students who are looking at how they want to propose a topic for
their Ph.D. research. Anyone interested in coordinating this
project should email us at
