Originally: an Evolutionary biologist from the University of Copenhagen, I am now doing my Ph.D in computational biology.
I use: probabilistic logic programming (PRISM) to construct models (phylo-hmm's & phylo-grammars) for biological sequence analysis (prediction and parameter estimation) of odd genes (small, overlapping, multifunctional), as part of a collaborative effort (primarily) of molecular biologists and logic programmers.
I've previously been hangin' around: the Department of Evolutionary Biology, University of Copenhagen and the Centre for Bioinformatics, University of Copenhagen.
I'm currently at: the Institute of Science, Systems and Models, Roskilde University (RUC). My supervisor is Ole Skovgaard (Molecular Biology, RUC), the PI on the grant that's funding me is Henning Christiansen (Computer Science, RUC), my primary collaborator is Ole Torp Lassen (Computer Scince, RUC), I'm a teaching assistant in Genetics and Bioinformatics (spring 2008), and I'm working as a madman in preparation for going to visit (for the last half year of 2008) Ian Holmes (UC Berkeley, USA).
