Blockwave
This project was built as a personal learning exercise to become comfortable with the Godot Engine and to improve my understanding of object-oriented game architecture.
Inspired by the classic gameplay of Tetris, I challenged myself to recreate its core mechanics while focusing on writing clean, maintainable, and modular code rather than simply making the game work.
The game includes:
- Classic falling-block gameplay
- Ghost piece preview
- Hold piece mechanic
- Next piece preview
- Hard drop
- Scoring and level progression
- Configurable starting level
- Game over statistics
This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Tetris Company. It is an educational project inspired by the classic puzzle game and was created to learn Godot, improve software architecture skills, and explore game development.
