AirPods Pro 2 connection issues since firmware upgrade

Airpods Pro 2 connection issues since firmware upgrade to 8B39. I have followed every trouble shooting step to resolve connection issues to my iPhone 17 iOS 26.5 however, every time I stop using my AirPods, they disconnect and next time I’m unable to connect them. I have to either reboot my phone, or reset the iPods completely to get them to work. The iPods are charging fine. I’ve turned off all additional settings but nothing helps. I’m on the latest iOS on my iPhone, and the AirPod case and AirPods are on the same firmware upgrade. Is there anything else I can do? This sounds like a bug that needs fixing.

While I was having the issue I was using a different pair of Bluetooth earbuds with my phone and had no issue with them. I tried using my Airpods with my old iPhone 12 to see if the problem was my iPhone 17 or or the actual Airpods. They worked fine with my 12. After I did that I tried to restart my 17 (just turned it all the way off, waited a few minutes and turned it on again.) After that my issue seems to have resolved itself and they haven't had any issues since. I'm not sure what exactly fixed it though.

I'm having pretty much the exact same issue except that mine are 1st Gen Pros. The first time it happened was sometime last month but it only occurred a couple times and I assumed it was because I was too far from the case and the other Airpod which was in the case. Then it started the first day of this month again but much worse. (June 1st) I'll be trying to listen to music or some kind of podcast or video and the Airpods will just disconnect I'm guessing from my iPhone 17. Then if I press play either on my phone or the Airpods they reconnect immediately and the audio resumes, and then a couple seconds to a few minutes later it disconnects again. I've tried toggling pretty much all the settings, turned off automatic ear detection, everything and nothing has fixed it. Mine are only like 2 years old too and they're basically unusable now. Sucks because I really liked them, the ANC was great and so was the sound quality.

My issue has continued and is extremely frustrating. Nearly every time I go to use my AirPods I have to reboot my phone, or reset the network settings, or forget the AirPods and reconnect (sometimes they don’t until the 3rd or 4th attempt). I tried pairing another set of Bluetooth EarPods and they wouldn’t connect either. My Apple Watch stays connected, and has had no issues. The iOS is up to date (did the new update yesterday). Nothing helps. I believe it is something to do with the iPhone 17, but no idea how to resolve it. I had to buy some wired headphones in an emergency as couldn’t join work calls.
