Resize Home Screen so can continuously see menu and dock

Mac Studio Home Screen suddenly went to full screen and can't see either menu or dock. (Sequoia 15.7.3). I DK how this happened but have gone through every thing I can find online and can NOT get the screen back to normal size where dock and menu bar are continuously visible. I have some visual disabilities so important for me to always have things visible and where I put them. HELP!

Mac Studio, macOS 15.7

are you talking about the Safari "Home Screen"?

if you go into System Settings > Control Center, you can set "Automatically hide and show the menu bar" to "Never" and the menubar will stay visible in full screen mode.

but for the dock, AFAICT, it will not stay visible in full screen. you will either need to manually adjust the bottom of the safari window to keep the dock visible, or you can mouse down to the bottom of your screen so that the dock will automatically pop up.

The menu and dock (and sides) are still "there" but I have to mess with the cursor forever to get one or the other to come into view.

so if you mouse to the top, the menubar comes into view? and if you mouse to the bottom, the dock comes into view? sounds to me like you inadvertently zoomed in on the desktop.

I tried zooming in. Icons and stuff were more concentrated but still can't see top, bottom, sides.

which method are you using to zoom in? and have you tried zooming out? are you using the keyboard's "control" key along with the scroll gesture of the mouse?

Hi, Jeffrey ~~ No, not Safari. The background display that comes on when you turn on computer. I guess, the desktop? Has background, menu bar at top and dock on bottom. Has been the same for two years. Was working yesterday and hit something and the desktop expanded to point where menu bar isn't visible and dock isn't visible and both left and right sides of desktop display aren't visible.

As though the whole desktop expanded by about 40-50%. I thought I must have accidentally hit full screen. I hit escape. Nothing. I went online and found several things for "how to return desktop to normal size." I tried everything I could find. Nothing. The menu and dock (and sides) are still "there" but I have to mess with the cursor forever to get one or the other to come into view. I tried zooming in. Icons and stuff were more concentrated but still can't see top, bottom, sides. I should note that the icons and lettering on things on desktop did NOT increase in size so it doesn't work to resize those. And, I checked to make sure "never hide" the menu bar in systems settings first; it's on "never hide." I know this has got to be something simple but I don't know what it is. Appreciate all help you can give me.

Thanks,

Gale
