Nathaniel "Nate" Winkel (born June 30, 1978 in Richfield, Minnesota) was a midfielder who last played for American USL First Division side Minnesota Thunder. He started his career with the Thunder, but moved to the Virginia Beach Mariners in 2002. He had spells in Sweden with Höllvikens GIF and Högaborgs BK before rejoining the Thunder. He played 13 matches for the team in the 2006 season. Nate has moved to New Zealand where he was playing soccer but retired due to injury. Nate has now taken a job at the Ole Soccer Academy in Wellington in a executive directors role.
