Based on such a philosophy, Japan launched the Enhanced Private Sector Assistance for Africa (EPSA) initiative with AfDB in 2006, and for the five years until 2010, we have made significant contributions to the development of economic infrastructure and to the support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in African countries.
