     Another technique enabling the creation of a virtual acoustic environment in surround systems is the ambisonic technique. The invention of the ambisonic technique is attributed to Michael Gerzon who published his key works on the subject at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s [Gerzon 1973, 1974]. The technique enables one to record, process, and reconstruct sound fields in a fully three-dimensional space. Recording is carried out with the use of an ambisonic microphone comprised of a definite number of component microphones.
