1. (まれに, slang, derogatory) A female gomer; a female hospital patient who is unpleasant to treat or who does not respond to treatment.
   • 1978, Samuel Shem, The House of God‎^[1], page 38:

     Ina Goober, whom I admitted six times last year. A gomer, or rather, the feminine, gomere.

   • 1996, Jeffrey E. Nash and James M. Calonico, The Meaning of Social Interaction: An Introduction to Social Psychology‎^[2], page 139:

   • 2019, Samuel Shem, Man's 4th Best Hospital, page 178:
