hardboot (plural hardboots)

1. (horse racing) An independent small-scale horse trainer or breeder, especially one associated with the U.S. state of Kentucky.
2. A kind of snowboarding boot with a hard plastic outer shell.

     From an age of seven years and upwards a hardboot with a plate binding can be used. The advantage of the hardboot is that they are easy to open and do up, as well as easier when getting into and out of the bindings.
