Often times when using either of the two CS options the CS side window will open, but nothing will happen. Sometimes (rarely) it does work, but only ever the "Explain briefly" option, never the "Explore this" option, despite trying it on a variety of sites.

As far as the CG options go, I feel they are a bit lacking in....usefulness? I mean, writing a haiku? Generating random ideas"? Rewrite using synonyms? Not to dismiss the effort that went into those, but I highly doubt they are going to be very useful for the average user. Translate works well enough, but you have to specify what language to translate into, meaning you have to type in the box, meaning the "AI Prompt context menu" is useless, as you still have to interact with the window and type in the prompt box to finish the translation. When if you go that far it's just faster to copy the text, paste it in the box, and say translate X to english and be done with it. All in all, I feel the CG option has much potential that isn't being used. If there is a way to customize these prompts that I haven't found (because I am lazy and haven't done much looking, to be honest) then that would be incredibly useful and increase the functionality of this feature immensely.

I'm experiencing longer than usual review time. It's almost a week, my one of add-on still pending review. How I can contact with the opera add-on management team to get assurance about review completion?

Then came Samsung's badaOS (anyone remember that?), still no Opera for me. By this time, Android has started gaining traction and it sped up, so did Google with their Google Chrome. Chrome has monopolized the market of browsers for so long and will continue to do so.

In the midst of all this, they were caught selling data like hot cakes. Some users like me decided it was time to bid adieu to Chrome and the entire Google Ecosystem. It was also a lesson learnt not to to trust your entire data with any internet corporation no matter how much privacy centric they are.

I decided to switch browsers mainly because Chrome lacks any good featureset and it just became a 'habit'. I tried Firefox, not very accessible UI although it's very good in things like extension support and some privacy centric features. Samsung Browser, Good but the ad block isn't built in and the ad block extension app needs to be running in the background for it to work. Also, decent UI, nothing great. Vivaldi, again very good UI but dark mode is broken and shows weird artifacts plus has bugs. Tried other small browsers but none were upto the mark. Finally tried Opera and I haven't looked back.

Opera has everything I want. Good dark mode, very accessible UI and very good UX, lots of options and even has a little theming section. In built adblocker plus VPN. A very convincing package.

However, nothing comes free. Opera comes with its own set of issues. If I scroll too fast, the scrolling is janky. It's not as smooth as other browsers. Sometimes, the long tap to copy menu breaks and doesn't show up when I have to copy a link/text.

However, I'd give Opera a chance to sort itself out. The only browser that comes close is Firefox only because of its extensions support

Then i learnt you can't change default search engine!

You can change the default search engine to one of the other default-provided ones. But, you can't set a search engine you add yourself as the default. It's a known downside to using Opera.

Thank you for that clarification! 🙂
