Request for True Real-Time Syncing Across Devices

I would love to see Opera evolve into a browser that truly acts as one unified system across all devices. Syncing should happen in real time and include all browser data—open tabs, recently closed tabs, full browsing history, passwords, bookmarks, and settings—without any manual intervention or the need to anticipate what to share. Currently, the lack of syncing recently closed tabs and browsing history between desktop and mobile breaks the seamless experience users expect. It is unreasonable to expect users to “pack” data manually via Flow or bookmarks before switching devices. Please prioritize developing a syncing system that mirrors the full capabilities of the browser on every device automatically, so users can pick up exactly where they left off, anytime, anywhere. Thank you for your attention to this important feature.

Flow connecting issue

I have issues connecting flow between Opera GX Browser and Opera for mobile.

Flow used to work just fine before on the 16th, and yet when I want to send a link from my mobile today, the flow from my mobile isn't connected. Both have been updated before making this topic

From my mobile, in the setting menu, I click on the "+ connect device" button and open the opera.com/connect link on my browser, but the page didn't provide any additional instructions. It just stays on that QR code page indefinitely.

And what is a connection code, how are we supposed to read that 5x4 block for the code, and why isn't the option to enter the code isn't in the Opera android app?

Fortunately, the OPERA GX for mobile flow function and connect almost from the get go, so I have to manually move most of my active mobile tab there for now.

I lost all My Flow content

Now it's possible to see that the messages I wrote earlier aren’t exactly the same as the real ones, but there is a similar sentence in parentheses, which I highlighted at 01:25 in the video.

Translation: "Content will continue to be available on other connected devices."

Unfortunately, at the end of the video, you can see my Opera account being disconnected, and My Flow on Android was also disconnected. Because of this I lost all content again, which contradicts the message shown in "Redefinir" (Reset) modal.

After that, I tried reconnecting to My Flow, but it's still showing the same UFO error screen, and https://opera.com/connect is stuck in an infinite loading loop, even after restarting both the browser and my laptop a few times.

Is it possible for someone at Opera to fix this issue?

@birrellwalsh Sync includes tabs, but you probably have to do extensions yourself.

[Suggestion]Option to close apps on the side bar

It would be great to have an option to close, end or kill a task on the side bar. When you no longer need an app, messenger or the media player or even flow it just stays in the background using resources. We should have an option to close the apps we don't want to have in the background so we can free some ram as this browser is advertised as for gamers. Edge example about quitting an app on their side bar.

Connecting with QR code (or not)

I'm having problems using Flow, when I click the Flow arrow on the side bar, it says 'connect your phone' I click this and it shows a QR code, I read this with my phone and the phone then displays a QR, saying to read it with my other device. I can't read it as it's a desktop with no means of doing this - no camera' If I click 'enter code manually' I get a square with 20 different coloured numbers and letters, but which ones do I enter and where?
Desktop Win 11 with Opera One (version: 102.0.4880.78).
Opera v. 77.4.4095.74896 on Android 11

@estanis you cannot set it to be the default, though. Ie. it won't be used when you type in "whatever" on the URL bar, unless you prefix it with the shortcut set there (like "b" for "Bing" or "z" for "Amazon").

And as Opera isn't customizable enough (in that area), I basically dumped it and switched to Vivaldi. Opera is (for default search) in the same boat as Safari… 😕

I downloaded Opera for iOS for the first time in a while. This is because I can use the generative AI "Aria" on Opera for iOS.

To use Aria, I need to login to my Opera account. So, I loged in it. Aria is nice!

But I notice one thing. I was able to login to my Opera account, but "My Flow" feature was not working. The reason is that I need to login by QR code to use My Flow.

QR code login is great! Because users don't have to enter a password. It is very easy and safty.

But logging in twice is a hassle. I think these should be unified if possible. I would like to be able to use both of these features if I log in with either of them.

Hi I've updated Opera and now Flow isn't working. Every time I open it, it does open but it doesn't work + I get taken to a page to download Opera... Which I obviously already have... I've tried to reset Flow but it just gets stuck. Anybody else experiencing this?

After the latest update My Flow will disconnect entirely and becomes unusable until I reconnect. The second issue being that when I try to connect it, the app says its already connected. Which leads to me having to completely reinstall the app on my phone losing anything I had in the process just to reconnect my computer.
Is there any kind of fix for this or am I just stuck waiting for an update?
