Hope it’s ok to ask here – I have a question about the “Quick” weapon skill – please let me know if I should ask somewhere else.
Question -
The Quick weapon skill reads: “When deciding who goes first when up against a weapon of the same damage die, treat your DEX as being X higher."
I thought “deciding who goes first” is determined by a DEX save in the first round, with PCs not acting if they fail, and then alternates between PCs and opponents (page 25 in print, page in 33 pdf). I’m missing the part about how damage die affects who goes first. Any clarification you can offer would be appreciated!
I've been looking for a Japanese-inspired "Mark of the Odd" game, and I think you've nailed it here! The mechanics from Cairn and Block, Dodge, Parry are very well incorporated into the setting.
I have a suggestion, and a question;
- I'd find it very helpful if the book were split into a "Player" and "Guide" section so it would be easier for my players to read. I tried to do it myself, but some of the pages have content combined (ie, page 41 has both rules for Light Sources and Wilderness Encounters).
- are there any adventures you'd suggest that would fit this system/setting well?
