About

Booklore is a free and open-source platform for managing and enjoying digital books. Designed to be self-hosted, multi-user, and accessible across devices, it empowers readers, educators, and communities to organize their collections, read with ease, and preserve digital libraries independently.

We created Booklore to fill a gap: most digital reading platforms are closed, commercial, or lack robust library features. Booklore supports EPUB and PDF reading in-browser, library browsing with powerful filters, multi-user access, metadata management, OPDS feeds, and a modern UI built for readers.

With your support through Open Collective, we aim to:
  • Cover server and hosting costs for demos, documentation, and CI/CD
  • Sponsor accessibility testing, UI/UX improvements, and multilingual support
  • Sustain open development and grow a vibrant contributor community
  • Fund IDE licenses, testing devices, and infrastructure for long-term maintainability

Our mission is to make reading more free, personal, and community-driven, without ads, tracking, or lock-in. Booklore is GPL-licensed, transparent by design, and built with care.

Join us in building the future of independent digital libraries.
