This is my only child. Every breath he takes is a struggle. Due to the severe shortage of medicine in Gaza and the skyrocketing prices, I am unable to provide the treatment he desperately needs for his respiratory condition.
With the freezing winter and the current cold weather front, his condition is worsening. We are cold, exhausted, and running out of time.
i think avoidance is such a little-recognized ocd compulsion. all the time i talk to people with ocd who are like “i was always having intrusive thoughts about using kitchen knives and harming myself or others but i’m okay now because i just stopped using knives ever 👍 so i’m good now”
and i’m like unfortunately i have bad news.
if you don’t know why this doesn’t work, the issue is that ocd never stops when you implement a compulsion. it evolves. today you’ve “solved” it by never using a knife again (and losing access to an important cooking tool, thus limiting an aspect of your life) but in a few months or a year it’ll be that forks are dangerous too. and hey, isn’t it risky to use the stove? avoidance will even begin to manifest in places you might not recognize.
the point is that OCD compulsions are never solutions, they’re actually the problems. the intrusive thoughts SEEM like the problem and the compulsions FEEL like the solution. and that’s how it getsya.

I am a father of two children 👨👧👦 from Gaza 🇵🇸, currently living through extremely difficult humanitarian conditions after losing my home due to the war 💔, and I am now displaced far from my original place of residence.
Life here is filled with daily challenges 😔, especially when it comes to providing basic needs such as food 🍞, water 💧, and care for my children.
My children are everything I have in this life ❤️, and I am doing my best to provide them with the minimum level of safety and food, but the current situation is very hard, and sometimes I cannot even provide them with a proper meal during the day 🍽️.

Before this crisis, I was a Computer Engineering graduate from the Islamic University of Gaza. I had a house, a car, a promising career, and a life full of dreams. Now, I am a brother carrying the heavy responsibility of keeping my entire family alive.
I sacrificed absolutely everything before turning to this campaign. I spent my entire life savings and sold every single thing I owned, including my laptop. Out of pure desperation to feed my family, I took a grueling heavy-lifting job that my body couldn’t handle. My back broke under the weight, leaving me hospitalized for an entire month.
Today, I am broken and in agonizing pain inside a tent, unable to even stand up on my own feet.
