Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of modifying a cellulase composition comprising a proteolytically stable cellulase and a non-proteolytically cellulase comprising the steps: a) adding protease to cellulase composition b) incubating said cellulase/protease composition in aqueous solution under conditions sufficient to degrade the cellulase to produce a modified cellulase composition, wherein said proteolytically stable cellulase retains, in said modified cellulase composition at least 10% of the activity attributed to the stable cellulase composition. Also claimed is a detergent comprising the above modified cellulase composition, and the use of the composition in the treatment of lignocellulosic material, as an animal feed additive, and treating textiles.
