Abstract

The invention relates to audio devices, such as loudspeaker, microphones and the like, and includes improvements in or relating thereto. Embodiments of the invention include audio devices comprising at least one audio transducer having: a transducer base structure, a diaphragm assembly, a transducing mechanism operatively coupled to the diaphragm, and one or more surrounds extending adjacent to and about an outer periphery of the diaphragm. The outer periphery of the diaphragm comprises one or more peripheral regions that are free from physical connection with the surround(s). The audio device further comprises at least one decoupling mounting system compliantly mounting one of the audio transducer(s) to at least one other part of the audio device. In such embodiments, subjective sound quality of the audio device may be improved.
