Abstract

plate assembly for an apparatus for generating a supply of air at positive pressure for the amelioration or treatment of a respiratory disorder, comprising: a base plate structured and configured to form a wall of a chamber; a plurality of tubes provided to the base plate and structured and configured to allow air to enter the chamber; a blower suspension provided to the base plate and structured and configured to support a blower outlet of a blower; and an outlet bellows provided to the base plate and in communication with the blower outlet of the blower, the outlet bellows structured and configured to form a seal with an end of an air circuit.

Claims (13)

1. A plate assembly for an apparatus for generating a supply of air at positive pressure for the amelioration or treatment of a respiratory disorder, comprising: a base plate structured and configured to form a wall of a chamber; a plurality of tubes provided to the base plate and structured and configured to allow air to enter the chamber; a blower suspension provided to the base plate and structured and configured to support a blower outlet of a blower; and an outlet bellows provided to the base plate and in communication with the blower outlet of the blower, the outlet bellows structured and configured to form a seal with an end of an air circuit.

The plate assembly according to claim 1, wherein the base plate and the plurality of tubes comprise a first part constructed of a relatively rigid material and the blower suspension and the outlet bellows comprise a second part constructed of a relatively soft material provided to the first part.
3. The plate assembly according to claim 2, wherein the second part is constructed of an elastomeric material that is overmolded to the first part.
4. The plate assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 3, further comprising a pressure port structured and configured to connect to a pressure sensor. JAWS Ref: 506133NZDIV10
5. The plate assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 4, further comprising a sealing lip along a perimeter of the base plate structured and configured to provide a seal along the chamber.

The plate assembly according to any one of claims 5 to 6, wherein the base plate and the plurality of tubes comprise a first part constructed of a relatively rigid material and the blower suspension, the outlet bellows, the pressure port, and the sealing lip comprise a second part constructed of a relatively soft material provided to the first part.
7. The plate assembly according to claim 6, wherein the second part is constructed of an elastomeric material that is overmolded to the first part.
8. The plate assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the blower suspension includes a gusset portion structured and configured to allow flexibility and relative movement to isolate vibrations of the blower and provide shock resistance.
9. The plate assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 8, further comprising a tube portion provided to the base plate, wherein the blower suspension is arranged along one end of the tube portion and the outlet bellows is arranged along the opposite end of the tube portion.
10. The plate assembly according to claim 9, wherein the tube portion includes an opening communicated with a pressure port. JAWS Ref: 506133NZDIV10
11. The plate assembly according to claim 9, wherein the blower suspension and the outlet bellows are overmolded to the tube portion.
12. The plate assembly according to claim 9, wherein the outlet bellows includes an end portion provided to the tube portion and a bellows portion that curves radially inwardly from the end portion.
13. The plate assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein a perimeter of the outlet bellows includes spaced apart projections to add rigidity.
