Abstract

Provided is a multiple-twist net (1) that has hexagonal meshes (4) comprising a plurality of wires (2, 3, 2’, 3’) and at least one reinforcing element (5). The wires being coiled together in twos in primary twisted portions (7), wherein the two wires are coiled together in the same twist direction, and secondary twisted portions (7’), wherein the wires are coiled together and around the reinforcing element. The reinforcing element has a greater strength than the strength of the wires, wherein the reinforcing element has a diameter between 4 and 10 mm, and the wires have a diameter between 1.8 and 3.9 mm. The configuration of this invention provides a reinforced multiple-twist net comprising a specific diameter range of the wires and reinforcement element. The indicated diameters have been found to be viable for obtaining a good strength of the netting while allowing a possible production given the specific (and difficult) way of intertwining three elements of differing diameter and strength (two wires and a reinforcing element) in the same intersection point of the netting.

Claims (9)

1. Multiple-twist net that has hexagonal meshes comprising a plurality of wires and at least one reinforcing element, the wires being coiled together in twos in primary twisted portions, wherein the two wires are coiled together in the same twist direction, and secondary twisted portions, wherein the wires are coiled together and around the reinforcing element, wherein said reinforcing element has a greater strength than the strength of the wires and wherein said reinforcing element has a diameter between 4 and 10 mm, and the wires have a diameter between 1.8 and 3.9 mm.
2. Net according to claim 1, wherein the reinforcing element has a diameter between 5 and 8 mm.
3. Net according to claim 1, wherein the wires are galvanized and plastics-coated.
4. Net according to claim 1, wherein the reinforcing element is a cable, rope or high-strength steel wire.
5. Net according to the preceding claim, wherein the reinforcing element is a metal cable composed of several strands and having an overall diameter at least twice that of the permanently deformable wires making up the rest of the
6. Net according to any one of claims 1 to 5, further comprising at least one transverse reinforcing element that is positioned perpendicularly to the direction of the reinforcing elements and inserted into the primary twisted portions.

Method for producing a net according to any one of claims 1 to 6, comprising the steps of: - providing a plurality of wires having a diameter between 1.8 and 3.9 mm, - providing at least one reinforcing element having a greater strength than the strength of the wires and a diameter between 4 and 10 mm, - coiling adjacent wires in the same twist direction into primary twisted portions, wherein only two wires are coiled together, and secondary twisted portions, wherein two wires are coiled together and around the reinforcing element.
8. Net according to claim 1, substantially as herein described with reference to any embodiment disclosed.
9. Method according to claim 7, substantially as herein described with reference to any embodiment disclosed.
