Abstract
Conventional 96-well microtitre plates can be compressed into the 384-well format or denser formats using a new device; an adapter. Said adapter can also function as reaction vessel in an embodiment where it is emptied by centrifugation into the receiving, denser format. Additionally, said adapter can comprise reagents, preferably in the form of reagent capillaries, which are emptied at a predetermined degree of centrifugation.
