To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWARD EHRLIGH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Coverlet for Holding and Exhibiting Hamburg Embroideries, 850., of which the following is a specification,

to The object of this invention is to provide a cheaper and more convenient form for putting up and exhibiting Hamburg embroideries and other like goods in measured folds of a yard in length, so that the whole may be viewed at once, and where folded for shipment or storing away the goods contained Within the coverlet will be thoroughly protected by flaps folding inward, as hereinafter more fully described.

Figure 1 represents aplan of my invention, showing the cover-let partially opened. Fig. 2 is a plan of the same, showing the flaps thrown open to fully expose the goods. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the same closed and folded.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

In the case here presented, A A represent the two sections of a folding back, preferably made of stiff paper or card-board, having a 0 flexible center division formed by creasing the covers or by an independent flexible connecting-strip, B, as may be deemed most desirable.

0 G G are flaps, made of the same material 5 as the folding backs, the said flaps being creased along the lines a, so as to enable them to be folded inward for the protection of the lace or other goods contained within, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2.

In order to hold the lace in position at the center, I employ an elastic strap, which is secured rigidly to the back, and, being provided with a hook and eye, I), or other suitable connection, the same may be disconnected, so that when selling or exhibiting the lace the whole 5 space may be left open between the elastic bands E E at the extremities. Consequently, should the salesman draw more lace from under the band E E than the purchaser may require, the lace can easily be folded and tucked under the said bands, the same as before.

F is a space on the cover, over which the ends of the lace are exposed to view.

I am aware that it is not new to fold the lace back and forth and have the ends or loops 5 5 held in place Within a sample-box byelastic bands.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is--- Afoldingcoverlet for holding and exhibiting lace,embroidery, and other articles, consisting of a back, A A, with flexible center portion,

B, folding flaps O, holding bands at the extremities, and a detachable band in the center, the whole being constructed, arranged, and operated substantially in the manner and for the use and purpose specified.
