  • These clamping devices may be in the form of any of the clamping devices illustrated in Figures 1, 5 or 6, in which each of the legs of the clamping devices terminate in double spaced apart clamping projections as opposed to the single clamps 69 which are normally used to hold the comer edges of the panels together.
  • Each panel 112, 114.1 and 114.5 is provided with six slot formations 118 located towards the outer periphery of the panels for accommodating the double clamping projections of the clamps 116.
  • the slots 118 are naturally longer than the slots 74 illustrated in Figure 2, which are used to accommodate the clamping projections of the single clamps 69.
  • only two slots 118 may be required per edge of each panel. This reduces the number of machining operations required to form the slots in the panels, as well as the number of clamps required to hold the various panels together.
  • a crate 110 requires twenty four clamps 116, whereas a container which is held together with single clamps of the type illustrated at 69 in Figure 2 requires at least thirty two, if not thirty six separate clamps. Further, the increased surface area provided by the double clamps 116 lends greater rigidity to the overall structure of the container.
  • the vertical slots 118A and 118B may be replaced with a single pair of intermediate slots 118C located midway along the outer edges of the respective panels 114.1 and 114.3.
  • additional shortened slots 120 substantially identical to the slots 76.3 and 76.4 of Figure 2 may be located in the side panels of 114.1 and 114.3 for accommodating the clamping projections 20 and 24 or 92 and 94 of the respective clamps 10 and 102 or 84.
  • the panels 112 and 114.1 to 114.5 are designed to be arranged in an overlying stacked or sheaved configuration, with all of the panels being clamped together by means of the clamping devices 116 in the manner taught in UK Patent 2104582.

Abstract

Un dispositif de fixation comprend un support (10) en L doté d'un coude (12) et de deux branches (14, 16) partant de ce coude vers des extrémités libres. Ces branches se terminent chacune par une paire de projections (18, 20, 22, 24) de fixation séparées portant des tenons (34). Ceux de la première paire de projections (18, 22) de fixation partent vers l'intérieur, l'un vers l'autre, et sont disposés pour s'introduire dans des premières fentes (76.1, 76.2) correspondantes ménagées dans des faces adjacentes d'un premier coin défini pour une première paire de panneaux (68.1, 68.2) perpendiculaires. Les tenons (34) de la deuxième paire de projections (20, 24) de fixation partent vers l'intérieur, l'un vers l'autre, et sont disposés pour s'introduire dans des deuxièmes fentes (76.3, 76.4) correspondantes ménagées dans des faces adjacentes d'un deuxième coin formé par une deuxième paire de panneaux (64.1, 64.2). Le support maintient le premier et le deuxième coins en relation d'empilement. L'invention s'applique à un ensemble (54) de conteneurs repliables et réutilisables comprenant au moins deux conteneurs (58, 60) maintenus alignés en empilement grâce à de tels dispositifs de fixation.
