 走行経路データ生成部(101)は、予定走行経路設定部として、自車両の予定走行経路を設定するように構成されている。モニタ(18)は、表示部として、設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を表示するように構成されている。経路画像は、自車両の駆動力及び/または制動力に対応した表示形態でモニタ(18)に表示される。

Description

車両用走行案内装置及び方法
 本発明は、乗員に車両がどのような予定走行状況で走行するかを案内することができる車両用走行案内装置及び方法に関する。
 特許文献1には、自車両の位置から案内点(例えば交差点)までの距離に応じて目標経路を色分けすることが記載されている。
特開2011-185951号公報
 特許文献1に記載の技術では、乗員は、現在位置より先の自車両の駆動状態または加速状態や、制動状態または減速状態を把握することができないといった問題点があった。
 本発明は、乗員に、この先、自車両が駆動状態または加速状態となるのか、あるいは制動状態または減速状態となるのかを案内することができる車両用走行案内装置及び方法を提供することを目的とする。
 上記目的を達成するため、本発明は、設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を、自車両の駆動力及び/または制動力、または、自車両の加速度及び/または減速度に対応した表示形態で、表示部に表示する。
 本発明の車両用走行案内装置及び方法によれば、乗員に、自車両が駆動状態または加速状態となるのか、制動状態または減速状態となるのかについて案内することができる。

 以下、一実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法について、添付図面を参照して説明する。図1に示す一実施形態の車両用走行案内装置は、例えば図2に示す車両100に搭載されている。以下の説明においては、車両100が、運転者が存在しなくても、車両100自体による制御によって自動走行する自動運転車両である場合を例とする。
 図1において、測位部11は、車両100の現在位置を測位する。測位部11は、例えば、GPS衛星からのGPS電波を図2に示すGPSアンテナ11aで受信して、車両100の現在位置を測位する。測位部11が車両100の現在位置を測位した測位データD11は、制御部10に入力される。
 測位部11は、ジャイロ等のGPS以外の測位方法で車両100の現在位置を測位してもよい。測位部11は、GPSとジャイロとを組み合わせて現在位置を測位してもよい。測位部11の機能を制御部10の内部に設けてもよい。
 地図情報保持部12は、地図情報を保持する。地図情報は、3次元(3D)表示が可能な情報であってもよい。地図情報保持部12は、ハードディスク・ドライブ,半導体メモリ,光ディスク等の任意の記録媒体でよい。地図情報保持部12より出力された地図データD12は、制御部10に入力される。
 図3に示すように、地図データD12は、地図情報として複数の情報を含む。地図データD12は、交差点や道路と道路との結節点を示すノード情報D12Nと、ノード情報D12Nが示すノードとノードとの間の道路区間に相当するリンク情報D12Lを含む。地図データD12は、それぞれのリンク(即ち、それぞれの道路区間)の制限速度情報D12sを含む。
 地図データD12は、高度情報D12Hを含んでいてもよい。制御部10は、高度情報D12Hに基づいて車両100が走行する道路の勾配を求めることができる。制御部10は、GPS電波に基づいて道路の勾配を求めてもよい。地図データD12は、道路の周囲に位置する建物等の道路周囲情報D12Eを含む。道路周囲情報D12Eは、3Dの情報であるとする。
 図2に示すように、車両100内には、車両100の外部前方を撮影するカメラ13が取り付けられている。カメラ13は、車両100が走行する道路を画角内に含むように前方の景色を撮影する。カメラ13の取り付け位置は、図2に示す位置に限定されない。図2に示す例では、カメラ13を1つとしているが、カメラ13が2つである、いわゆるステレオカメラとしてもよい。カメラ13で車両100の前方を撮影した撮影データD13は、制御部10に入力される。
 車両100の例えばフロントグリルの内側には、測距センサ14が取り付けられている。測距センサ14は、レーザレーダやミリ波レーダで構成することができる。測距センサ14は、車両100の前方に存在する物体との距離を測定する。測距センサ14による測距データD14は、制御部10に入力される。
 測距センサ14は、車両100の前方に位置する障害物を検出するために設けられている。車両100の前方に位置する障害物とは、車両100の前方に侵入してくる障害物を含む。車両100の前方を走行する先行車両は障害物の1つである。制御部10は、測距データD14に基づいて障害物を検出する。制御部10は、測距データD14及び撮影データD13に基づいて障害物を検出してもよい。また、制御部10は、撮影データD13のみに基づいて障害物を検出してもよい。
 車両100は、走行する車両100の速度を検出する車速センサ15を備える。車速センサ15は車両100の車速を検出する車速検出部であり、例えば車輪速センサよりなる。車速センサ15による車速データD15は、制御部10に入力される。
 乗員が操作部16を操作して目的地を設定すると、目的地の設定データD16は制御部10に入力される。操作部16によって、経由地や優先すべき道路等、目的地以外の経路案内に必要な他の情報を設定してもよい。他の情報を設定した場合には、設定データD16は他の情報の設定データを含む。
 制御部10は、測位データD11と地図データD12と設定データD16とに基づいて、現在地から目的地までの走行経路データD101を生成する。走行経路データD101は、走行経路データ保持部17に保持される。走行経路データ保持部17は、不揮発性メモリである。
 後述するように、一実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法においては、制御部10は、走行経路データD101及び後述する各種の情報に基づいて、車両100の走行状況をどのように制御するかを視覚的に示すための走行計画画像データD102を生成する。
 走行計画画像データD102は、カメラ13からの撮影データD13によるカメラ画像上に、車両100が走行する走行予定線と走行状況識別画像とを重畳した画像データである。
 走行状況識別画像は、車両100が、駆動力がかけられて駆動状態で走行するのか制動力がかけられて制動状態で走行するのかの走行状況を示す。走行状況識別画像は、駆動状態と制動状態とは関係なく、車両100が加速している加速状態であるか減速している減速状態であるかの走行状況を示してもよい。走行計画画像データD102が示す走行計画画像の詳細については後に詳述する。
 制御部10は、走行計画画像データD102をモニタ(表示部)18に供給する。
 車両100は、車両100を走行させるための走行装置22を備える。走行装置22は、ステアリング22s,アクセル22a,ブレーキ22bを含む。走行装置22は、加速または減速のためのギア等の変速機構を含んでもよい。走行装置駆動部21は、制御部10による制御に基づいて、走行装置22を駆動する。
 図4を用いて、制御部10の具体的な動作について説明する。図4は、制御部10の機能的な内部構成を示している。制御部10をマイクロコンピュータで構成してもよい。以下に説明する制御部10の動作は、コンピュータプログラムで実現することも可能である。
 図4において、走行経路データ生成部101には、測位データD11と地図データD12と設定データD16とが入力される。走行経路データ生成部101は、地図データD12に基づき、測位データD11が示す現在位置から設定データD16が示す目的地までの予定走行経路を示す走行経路データD101を生成する。
 走行経路データD101は走行経路データ保持部17に保持され、走行経路データD101のうち、車両100の進行に伴って経路案内に必要な部分のデータが読み出される。車両が予定走行経路から外れた場合は、走行経路データ生成部101は、新たな予定走行経路を示す走行経路データD101を生成して走行経路データD101を更新する。走行経路データ生成部101は、自車両の予定走行経路を設定する予定走行経路設定部である。
 走行経路データ生成部101が走行経路データ保持部17より読み出した走行経路データD101は、走行計画画像データ生成部102及び走行計画策定部103に入力される。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102には、走行経路データD101の他、測位データD11,地図データD12,撮影データD13が入力される。走行計画画像データ生成部102で実行される処理については後述する。
 走行計画策定部103には、走行経路データD101の他、測位データD11,地図データD12,撮影データD13,車速データD15が入力される。走行計画策定部103は、車両100をどのような車速で走行させるかの計画を策定する車速計画策定部1031と、車両100を走行させる目標点(走行目標点)を設定する走行目標点設定部1032とを有する。
 前述のように、地図データD12は、道路周囲情報D12Eを含む。よって、走行計画策定部103は、地図データD12と撮影データD13とを照らし合わせることによって、車両100が、走行経路データD101が示す予定走行経路上のどこを走行しているかを特定することができる。走行計画策定部103は、地図データD12と撮影データD13とに加えて、測位データD11を参照して、車両100が走行している道路上の位置を特定してもよい。
 図5を用いて、車速計画策定部1031及び走行目標点設定部1032の動作を説明する。車両100は、走行経路データD101に基づいて、矢印で示すように、リンクL1で示す道路区間を走行し、ノードN1で左方向へと進路を変え、リンクL2で示す道路区間を走行するものとする。走行目標点設定部1032は、所定間隔で車両100を走行させる道路上の走行目標点P1,P2,P3,…を設定する。
 走行目標点設定部1032は、それぞれの時点での車両100の道路上の位置から所定時間走行した位置までの距離、または、それぞれの時点での車両100の道路上の位置から走行方向前方の所定距離における走行目標点を設定する。図5に示す例では、走行目標点設定部1032は、車両100の現在位置から走行目標点P7までの距離に走行目標点を設定する。
 車両100の現在位置から、車両100から最も離れた前方の走行目標点までの距離を走行計画策定距離と称することとする。走行目標点設定部1032は、車速に応じて走行計画策定距離を設定してもよい。走行目標点設定部1032は、車速が速いほど走行計画策定距離を長くしてもよい。走行計画策定距離を長くすれば、後述する走行状況識別画像も長くなる。
 具体的には、走行目標点設定部1032は、車速を複数の範囲に分け、車速が遅い範囲ほど走行計画策定距離を短く、車速が速い範囲ほど走行計画策定距離を長く設定する。走行目標点設定部1032は、例えば、車速が40km/hであれば走行計画策定距離を50m、車速が60km/hであれば走行計画策定距離を80mのように設定すればよい。
 また、走行目標点設定部1032は、車速に応じて走行目標点を設定する間隔を決定してもよい。走行目標点設定部1032は、車速が遅い範囲ほど間隔を短く、車速が速い範囲ほど間隔を長く設定する。例えば、走行目標点設定部1032は、車速が30km/hであれば1.5m間隔、40km/hであれば2m間隔、60km/hであれば4m間隔のように設定すればよい。
 走行目標点設定部1032は、車両100の例えば中心点や前輪の中央点が道路上を通過する位置を走行目標点として設定する。走行計画策定部103は、撮影データD13によって車両100が走行する車線を認識することができる。走行目標点設定部1032は、車線の例えば中央に走行目標点P1,P2,P3,…を設定すればよい。
 前述のように、地図データD12は、それぞれの道路区間の制限速度情報D12sを含む。よって、車速計画策定部1031は、リンクL1,L2それぞれの道路区間において、車両100の車速をどのように設定して車両100を走行させるかの車速計画を策定することができる。
 図5に示す例では、リンクL1の制限速度が40km/hであり、リンクL2の制限速度が30km/hである。車速計画策定部1031は、リンクL1の道路区間において、走行目標点P1~P3それぞれに対して時速40km/hと設定し、走行目標点P4に対して例えば時速36km/hと設定し、走行目標点P5に対して例えば時速32km/hと設定する。
 ノードN1は、走行目標点設定部1032で設定した走行目標点とは異なる位置にある。この場合でも、車速計画策定部1031は、ノードN1に対して時速を設定してもよい。車速計画策定部1031は、ノードN1に対して時速30km/hと設定する。車速計画策定部1031は、リンクL2の道路区間において、走行目標点P6,P7それぞれに対して時速30km/hと設定する。
 以上のようにして、走行計画策定部103は、車両100が走行する道路の前方に走行計画策定距離を設定し、走行計画策定距離内の道路上に所定間隔で走行目標点を設定する。そして、走行計画策定部103は、それぞれの走行目標点に対して車両100を走行させる際の車速を設定した走行計画を策定する。
 走行計画策定部103は、策定した走行計画を示す走行計画データD103を走行装置駆動部21及び走行計画画像データ生成部102に供給する。走行計画データD103は、走行目標点データとそれぞれの走行目標点の車速データとを含む。走行計画画像データ生成部102に走行目標点データのみを供給してもよい。
 走行装置駆動部21は、走行計画データD103に基づいて走行装置22を駆動する。よって、車両100は、走行経路データD101が示す予定走行経路に沿って、走行計画策定部103が策定した走行計画に従って自動的に走行する。
 図6は、車両100がリンクL1,L2の道路区間を走行計画データD103が示す走行計画に従って走行する状態を、車両100から見た状態で概念的に示している。車線の例えば中央に走行目標点P1,P2,P3,…が設定されている。車両100は、走行目標点P1,P2,P3,…を順次たどるようにして、それぞれの走行目標点に対して設定された車速で走行していく。
 図5では、説明を簡略化するために、車両100の前方を走行する先行車両等の障害物が存在せず、車両100が制限速度で走行できる状態を示している。実際には、車両100は、信号機や障害物の存在によって停止したり減速したりする必要がある。
 信号機は交差点近傍に設置されており、概ね配置されている高さが決まっている。よって、走行計画策定部103は、撮影データD13に基づいて、信号機の色を判別することができる。車速計画策定部1031は、制限速度以外の条件として、信号機の色に応じて、それぞれの走行目標点に対して車速を設定する。
 走行計画策定部103は、車両100が予定走行経路に沿って走行するときの道路に関する情報を検出する道路情報検出部として動作している。道路に関する情報とは具体的には道路標識であり、例えば、道路の制限速度や信号機である。
 また、走行計画策定部103は、道路に関する情報と、車両100の車速とに基づいて、車両100が予定走行経路に沿って走行するときに車両100を駆動状態(または加速状態)と制動状態(または減速状態)とのいずれかに設定する予定走行状況設定部として動作している。
 図4において、障害物検出部104には、撮影データD13及び測距データD14が入力される。障害物検出部104は、撮影データD13と測距データD14との少なくとも一方を用いて、障害物を検出する。障害物検出部104は、撮影データD13と測距データD14との双方を用いて障害物を検出してもよい。
 障害物とは、車両100の安全な走行に対する妨げとなる物体(人を含む)である。例えば、先行車両の他、走行中の車両100の前方に飛び出してくる人物や車両(自動車または自転車)、道路上に駐車している車両等が障害物に当たる。
 障害物検出部104は、障害物を検出したら、障害物を検出したことを示す障害物検出データD104を走行計画策定部103に供給する。障害物検出データD104は、車両100と障害物との距離データを含む。車速計画策定部1031は、制限速度及び信号機の色以外の条件として、さらに、障害物の存在の有無、車両100と障害物との距離に応じて、それぞれの走行目標点に対して車速を設定する。
 予定走行状況設定部である走行計画策定部103は、障害物検出部104が検出した障害物の有無または車両100と障害物との距離に応じて、車両100を駆動状態(または加速状態)と制動状態(または減速状態)とのいずれかに設定する。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行計画策定部103と同様、車両100が走行している道路上の位置を特定して車線を認識する。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行計画データD103に含まれる走行目標点データに基づいて、撮影データD13によるカメラ画像上に走行目標点に基づいて生成する走行予定線を重畳させた画像データを生成する。
 図7は、走行予定線の第1の例を示している。車両100は、車線LN0を上方へと走行しているとする。第1の例は、走行目標点をつなぎ、所定の幅Wr1を有する直線(または曲線)よりなる走行予定線R1を示している。第1の例である走行予定線R1は、車両100の車幅W100のほぼ中央が通る線を示す。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行予定線R1の幅Wr1を次のように設定する。図8において、直線R10は、走行目標点をつなぐ線である。走行装置駆動部21が走行計画データD103に基づいてステアリング22sを駆動して、車両100をまっすぐに走行させたとしても、道路表面上の段差等により車両100は直線R10上を走行しないことがある。車両100は、曲線R20で示すように、左右にふらつく。
 走行予定線が図8に示す細い直線R10であると、乗員は、走行予定線と車両100の左右のふらつきとのずれに違和感を覚えることがある。そこで、車両100の左右のふらつきを考慮して、走行予定線R1の幅Wr1をふらつきの幅以上としてもよい。
 車両100の左右のふらつきの程度は、車両100をまっすぐに走行させるようステアリング22sを駆動したとき、ステアリング22sのぶれによって生じる制御誤差値Dssに相当する。図4に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102には、走行装置駆動部21より制御誤差値Dssが入力される。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行予定線R1の幅Wr1をステアリング22sの制御誤差値Dssに応じて設定する。
 図9は、走行予定線の第2の例を示している。第2の例は、走行目標点をつなぐ直線と平行に、2本の走行予定線R2を表示する例を示している。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、2本の走行予定線R2の間隔を車両100の概ね車幅W100に設定する。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、2本の走行予定線R2の間隔を、制御誤差値Dssを考慮して、車幅W100よりも広い幅W110に設定してもよい。
 幅W110は、左側の走行予定線R2を車両100の左側へのぶれよりも外側、右側の走行予定線R2を車両100の右側へのぶれよりも外側とした幅とすればよい。2本の走行予定線R2の間隔を幅W110とすれば、車両100が左右にふらついても車両100は走行予定線R2の外側にはみ出さない。よって、乗員は違和感を覚えにくい。
 後述するように、1本の走行予定線R1、または、2本の走行予定線R2で囲まれた範囲は、車両100の走行状況を示す識別画像(走行状況識別画像)を重畳させる部分となる。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、最小で車両100のステアリング22sの制御誤差に相当する幅とし、最大で車両100の車幅W100に制御誤差に相当する幅を加えた幅とする。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、カメラ画像上に走行予定線R1またはR2を重畳させた上で、車両100の走行状況を示す走行状況識別画像を重畳させた走行計画画像データD102を生成する。車両100の走行状況とは、具体的には、車両100が駆動状態(または加速状態)にあるか制動状態(または減速状態)にあるかである。
 車両100の走行状況とは、駆動力も制動力もかけていないコースト状態を含んでもよい。コースト状態は、車両100加速状態にあるコースト状態と減速状態にあるコースト状態とを含んでもよい。
 図10及び図11は、モニタ18に表示され、カメラ画像上に重畳される走行状況識別画像の第1の例を示している。図10及び図11は、走行予定線を図9で説明した2本の走行予定線R2とした場合を示している。
 図10において、障害物検出部104は、車線LN0を走行する車両100(自車両)の前方に位置する先行車両150を障害物として検出して、障害物検出データD104を走行計画策定部103に供給する。走行計画策定部103は、障害物検出データD104が入力されたことから、それぞれの走行目標点に対して車速を段階的に減速させるように車速を設定する。
 図10に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、2本の走行予定線R2の間の領域であり、車両100が駆動状態にあり一定速となっている範囲に対して、走行状況識別画像(第1の識別画像)Im10を重畳させている。また、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、2本の走行予定線R2の間の領域であり、車両100が制動状態にあり減速となっている範囲に対して、走行状況識別画像(第2の識別画像)Im11を重畳させている。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、一例として、走行状況識別画像Im10と走行状況識別画像Im11との色を異ならせた状態の走行計画画像データD102を生成する。走行状況識別画像Im10及び走行状況識別画像Im11は、半透明画像としてもよい。走行状況識別画像Im10及び走行状況識別画像Im11が半透明画像であれば、道路(車線画像)が完全に隠れてしまうことはなく、道路上の標識や物体を識別することができる。
 乗員は、走行計画画像データD102が示すモニタ18に表示される走行計画画像を見ることにより、車両100が一定速で走行している状態から減速するように制御されることを容易に認識することができる。
 図11は、車両100が、信号機TL1が赤であったことから交差点手前で停止し、信号機TL1が青になって発進しようとする状態を示している。走行計画策定部103は、発進後から所定距離までそれぞれの走行目標点に対して車速を段階的に加速させ、制限速度に達したら、それぞれの走行目標点に対して車速を一定速とするように車速を設定する。
 図11に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、2本の走行予定線R2の間の領域であり、車両100が駆動状態にあり加速となっている範囲に対して、走行状況識別画像(第3の識別画像)Im12を重畳させている。また、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、2本の走行予定線R2の間の領域であり、車両100が駆動状態にあり一定速となっている範囲に対して、図10と同様、走行状況識別画像Im10を重畳させている。
 図11においても、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像Im10と走行状況識別画像Im12との色を異ならせた状態の走行計画画像データD102を生成する。走行状況識別画像Im12も、同様の理由により半透明画像でしてもよい。
 乗員は、走行計画画像データD102が示すモニタ18に表示される走行計画画像を見ることにより、車両100が加速から一定速で走行するように制御されることを容易に認識することができる。
 図10,図11において、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行予定線R2の色を走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12とは独立した色としてもよいし、走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12と同色としてもよい。走行予定線R2の色を走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12と同色とした場合には、走行計画画像を走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12のみで構成した場合と実質的に等価である。
 走行状況識別画像は、図10,図11に示すような色を異ならせる画像に限定されない。走行状況に応じて形状が異なる識別画像を用いてもよい。
 図12及び図13は、モニタ18に表示され、カメラ画像上に重畳される走行状況識別画像の第2の例を示している。
 図12は、図10に示す走行状況識別画像Im10と走行状況識別画像Im11との代わりに、走行状況に応じて形状を異ならせた識別画像の例を示している。図12に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が駆動状態にあり一定速となっている範囲に対して、例えば四角形の走行状況識別画像(第1の識別画像)Im20を重畳させている。
 また、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が制動状態にあり減速となっている範囲に対して、例えば下向き矢印の走行状況識別画像(第2の識別画像)Im21を重畳させている。
 図13は、図11に示す走行状況識別画像Im10と走行状況識別画像Im12との代わりに、走行状況に応じて形状を異ならせた識別画像の例を示している。図13に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が駆動状態にあり加速となっている範囲に対して、例えば上向き矢印の走行状況識別画像(第3の識別画像)Im22を重畳させている。
 また、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が駆動状態にあり一定速となっている範囲に対して、図12と同様、例えば四角形の走行状況識別画像Im20を重畳させている。
 走行状況識別画像Im20,Im21,Im22の四角形,下向き矢印,上向き矢印は単なる例であり、一定速,減速,加速をイメージさせるような識別画像であればよい。走行状況識別画像Im20,Im21,Im22を、内部を塗りつぶさない枠画像とすることにより、道路上の標識や物体の識別にほとんど影響を与えない。
 ところで、走行予定線を図7で説明した走行予定線R1とした場合には、走行予定線R1を走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12と同様に色分けすればよい。または、走行予定線R1上に、走行状況識別画像Im20,Im21,Im22と同様の識別画像を重畳させればよい。
 図10~図13に示す走行計画画像においては、駆動状態と制動状態とを、車両100の加速度に応じて3種類に区別して表示する走行状況識別画像を用いる例を示している。
 例えば、車両100が上昇する勾配を有する道路を走行するとき、一定速で走行するためにアクセル22aを踏み込んだ駆動状態とする場合がある。また、車両100が下降する勾配を有する道路を走行するとき、一定速で走行するためにブレーキ22bをかける制動状態とする場合がある。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100の加速度とは関係なく、車両100を駆動状態とするのか制動状態とするのかを区別して表示する走行状況識別画像を用いた走行計画画像としてもよい。
 また、走行計画策定部103は、車両100が走行する道路に関する情報、例えば勾配または曲率に応じて、駆動状態と制動状態との予定走行状況を示す走行計画を策定することも可能である。この場合、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、道路の勾配または曲率に基づいて走行状況識別画像を設定して、カメラ画像に重畳させることになる。
 このようにすると、道路の状態に応じて走行状況識別画像が異なるので、乗員は、車両100の現在位置以降、道路の状態を把握しつつ、走行計画策定距離分の予定走行状況を認識することが可能となる。
 さらに、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、駆動状態と制動状態とは関係なく、車両100が加速している加速状態であるか減速している減速状態であるかの走行状況を示してもよい。
 図14は、走行状況識別画像の第3の例であり、駆動状態と制動状態とは関係なく、加速状態と減速状態のみを表示する例を示している。図14において、先方の信号機TL2は赤である。図14に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が加速状態にある範囲に対して、走行状況識別画像Im32を重畳させ、車両100が減速状態にある範囲に対して、走行状況識別画像Im31を重畳させている。
 図15は、走行状況識別画像の第4の例を示している。道路の状況によっては車両100が駆動状態でも制動状態でもない状態で、加速の状態であるコースト状態が発生する。道路の状況によっては車両100が駆動状態でも制動状態でもない状態で、減速の状態であるコースト状態が発生する。図15は、加速状態の一部であるコースト状態と減速状態の一部であるコースト状態とを区別して走行状況識別画像を表示する例を示している。
 図15に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が加速状態にある範囲に対して走行状況識別画像Im32を重畳させ、車両100が加速の状態であるコースト状態にある範囲に対して走行状況識別画像Im32cを重畳させている。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が減速状態にある範囲に対して走行状況識別画像Im31を重畳させ、車両100が減速の状態であるコースト状態にある範囲に対して走行状況識別画像Im31cを重畳させている。
 以上をまとめると、実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法による走行状況識別画像は次の態様である。走行状況識別画像は、設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像である。第1の態様として、経路画像を駆動状態(駆動力)と制動状態(制動力)とのそれぞれに対応した表示形態とすることができる。図10,図11では、駆動状態を加速の状態と一定速の状態とで画像を異ならせている。加速の状態と一定速の状態と区別せず、駆動状態と制動状態に対応した表示形態とするのが第1の態様である。
 図10~図13は、経路画像を駆動状態と制動状態とのそれぞれに対応した表示形態とし、駆動状態を加速の状態と一定速の状態とで画像を異ならせた第2の態様である。
 第3の態様として、図14で説明したように、経路画像を加速状態(加速度)と減速状態(減速度)とのそれぞれに対応した表示形態とすることができる。第4の態様として、図15で説明したように、経路画像を加速状態と減速状態とコースト状態とのそれぞれに対応した表示形態とすることができる。図15において、加速の状態であるコースト状態を省略して、減速の状態であるコースト状態のみをコースト状態として表示してもよい。
 他の態様として、駆動力及び制動力の程度に応じた表示形態とすることも可能であり、加速度や減速度の程度に応じた表示形態とすることも可能である。
 図16に示すフローチャートを用いて、以上説明した一実施形態の車両用走行案内装置の動作、一実施形態の車両用走行案内方法による手順について、改めて説明する。図16において、制御部10は、ステップS1にて、走行経路データ保持部17より走行経路データD101を取得する。
 制御部10は、ステップS2にて、走行経路データD101が示す予定走行経路に沿って、自車両(車両100)の現在位置から前方の走行計画策定距離だけ、自車両が走行する車線上の走行目標点を所定間隔で設定する。制御部10は、ステップS3にて、それぞれの走行目標点に対して、自車両の現在の車速、走行する道路の制限速度、信号機の色、障害物の有無及び距離に応じて、車速を設定して車速計画を策定する。
 ステップS2及びステップS3によって、車両100を駆動状態とするか制動状態とするかの予定走行状況を示す走行計画データD103が生成される。
制御部10は、ステップS4にて、走行計画データD103を走行装置駆動部21に供給する。制御部10は、ステップS5にて、カメラ画像の車線画像上に走行予定線を重畳する。制御部10は、ステップS6にて、走行予定線上または走行予定線間に走行状況識別画像を重畳する。ステップS5及びステップS6によって、走行計画画像を示す走行計画画像データD102が生成される。
制御部10は、ステップS7にて、走行計画画像データD102をモニタ18に供給する。これによって、モニタ18には、走行計画画像が重畳されたカメラ画像が表示される。制御部10は、ステップS7の後、処理をステップS1に戻してステップS1~ステップS7を繰り返す。
以上の説明は、カメラ13を用いて、カメラ画像の車線画像上に走行計画画像を重畳する場合を示している。カメラ13の代わりにレーザレンジファインダを用いてもよい。レーザレンジファインダからレーザ光を発して、道路等で反射した反射波を制御部10によって検出することにより、道路の車線を示す画像データを得ることができる。
 カメラ13の代わりにレーザレンジファインダを用いた場合には、走行計画画像データ生成部102には、撮影データD13の代わりに、レーザレンジファインダより出力された道路の車線を示す画像データが入力される。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、道路の車線を示す画像データが示す車線画像上に走行計画画像を重畳すればよい。
さらには、図17に示す第5の例のように、車両100が走行する実際の道路を撮影したカメラ画像ではなく、地図データD12による地図画像上に走行計画画像を重畳してもよい。地図画像は、自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を示す。図17において、モニタ18には地図データD12に基づいて車両100の現在位置周辺の道路が表示されている。現在位置マークM100は、車両100の現在位置を示す。
図17に示す表示例は、車両100の進行方向を上向きに示している。車両100は地図画像の下方から上方へと進行している。車両100前方の信号機TL3が赤であったとする。走行計画策定部103は、車速を一定速とする状態から車速を段階的に減速させて、信号機TL2の手前で車両100を停止させるよう、走行計画を策定する。
図17に示すように、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、地図画像の車線画像上に、車両100が駆動状態で一定速であることを示す走行状況識別画像Im10と、車両100が制動状態で減速であることを示す走行状況識別画像Im11を重畳させている。
図17に示す表示例では、車線画像の全体に走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11を重畳させており、走行予定線R1またはR2を省略している。図17に示す表示例は、図16におけるステップS5を省略し、ステップS6にて、地図画像の車線画像上に走行状況識別画像を重畳させることによって実現できる。
車線画像上に走行予定線R1またはR2を重畳させ、さらに走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11を重畳させてもよい。ここでは、一定速と減速の状態しか示していないが、加速の状態であれば、走行状況識別画像Im12を重畳させればよい。
図17のように、地図画像上に走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12を重畳させる場合には、走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12は半透明画像でなくてもよい。走行状況識別画像Im10,Im11,Im12の代わりに、走行状況識別画像Im20,Im21,Im22のような走行状況に応じて形状を異ならせた識別画像とすることも可能である。
図17では2次元(2D)の地図画像としているが、3Dの地図画像とすることも可能である。3Dの地図画像とすれば、カメラ画像に近似した画像となる。
以上の一実施形態の車両用走行案内装置で代表して説明したように、実施形態の車両用走行案内装置は、走行計画策定部103と、走行計画画像データ生成部102と、モニタ18とを備える。
走行計画策定部103は、道路上を予定走行経路に沿って走行する車両100の現在位置から前方の所定の距離を走行計画策定距離として設定する。走行計画策定部103は、車両100を走行計画策定距離だけ走行させる際に車両100を駆動状態とするか制動状態とするかの予定走行状況を示す走行計画を策定する。
走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両が走行する道路の車線画像の位置に、走行計画が示す駆動状態と制動状態とに応じて視覚的に異なる走行状況識別画像(例えばIm10,Im11,Im12またはIm20,Im21,Im22)を配置した走行計画画像データD102を生成する。モニタ18は、走行計画画像データD102が示す走行計画画像を表示する。
 また、実施形態の車両用走行案内装置は次のように構成されている。道路情報検出部として動作する走行計画策定部103は、自車両(車両100)が予定走行経路に沿って走行するときの道路に関する情報を検出する。車速検出部である車速センサ15は自車両の車速を検出する。
 予定走行状況設定部として動作する走行計画策定部103は、道路情報検出部が検出した道路に関する情報と、車速センサ15が検出した車速とに基づいて、自車両が予定走行経路に沿って走行するときに自車両を駆動状態と制動状態とのいずれかに設定する。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、予定走行経路の道路を示す画像上の道路の位置に、予定走行状況設定部が設定した駆動状態と制動状態とを示す走行状況識別画像を配置した画像データ(走行計画画像データ)を生成する。表示部としてのモニタ18は、画像データによる画像を表示する。
 道路の位置に走行状況識別画像を配置するとは、道路を示す車線画像上に走行状況識別画像を重畳すること、車線画像の一部を走行状況識別画像に置換すること、車線画像の全体を走行状況識別画像に置換することのいずれでもよい。
 実施形態の車両用走行案内方法は、次のような各ステップを含む。道路情報検出ステップは、自車両が予定走行経路に沿って走行するときの道路に関する情報を検出する。車速検出ステップは、自車両の車速を検出する。設定ステップは、道路情報検出部ステップにて検出した道路に関する情報と、車速検出ステップにて検出した車速とに基づいて、自車両が予定走行経路に沿って走行するときに自車両を駆動状態と制動状態とのいずれかに設定する。
 画像データ生成ステップは、予定走行経路の道路を示す画像上の道路の位置に、予定走行状況設定ステップにて設定した駆動状態と制動状態とを示す走行状況識別画像を配置した画像データを生成する。表示ステップは、画像データによる画像を表示部に表示する。
 以上の構成により、実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法によれば、乗員に、車両が駆動状態となるのか制動状態となるのかの予定走行状況を案内することができる。
 実施形態の車両用走行案内装置において、画像データ生成部は、駆動状態を示す走行状況識別画像と制動状態を示す走行状況識別画像とを視覚的に異ならせると、乗員は、容易に駆動状態と制動状態とを判別することができる。
 実施形態の車両用走行案内装置において、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、次のように画像データを生成してもよい。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像として、道路の位置に、車両100が一定速で走行する道路の範囲には第1の識別画像を配置させた走行計画画像データを生成する。また、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像として、道路の位置に、車両100が減速する道路の範囲には第2の識別画像を、車両100が加速する道路の範囲には第3の識別画像をそれぞれ配置させた走行計画画像データを生成する。
 このようにすれば、単に駆動状態と制動状態とを案内できるだけでなく、車両100の加速度の状態を案内することができる。
 走行計画策定部103は、走行目標点設定部1032と車速計画策定部1031とを含んで構成することができる。走行目標点設定部1032は、走行計画策定距離に対して、車両100を走行させる道路上の複数の走行目標点を所定間隔で設定する。車速計画策定部1031は、複数の走行目標点それぞれに対して車両100の車速を設定して、車両100を走行計画策定距離だけ走行させる際の車速計画を策定する。
 このようにすれば、車両100を自動走行させることが可能となる。
走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像として、駆動状態と制動状態とに応じて色または形状が異なる識別画像を用いてもよい。このようにすれば、乗員は、駆動状態と制動状態とを容易に把握することができる。
 このとき、走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像として、半透明の識別画像を用いてもよい。このようにすれば、車線画像が完全に隠れてしまうことはなく、道路上の標識や物体を識別することができる。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像の幅を、最小で車両100のステアリング22sの制御誤差による車両100のぶれに相当する幅とし、最大で車両100の幅に制御誤差による車両100のぶれに相当する幅を加えた幅としてもよい。このようにすれば、乗員は、走行状況識別画像を見たときの違和感を覚えにくい。
 走行計画策定部103は、走行計画策定距離を車両100の車速が速いほど長く設定してもよい。走行計画画像データ生成部102は、走行状況識別画像の自車両が走行する方向の長さを、自車両の車速が速いほど長く設定してもよい。このようにすれば、乗員は、車速が速くなっても車両100の予定走行状況を把握しやすくなる。
 走行計画画像データ生成部102は、車両100が走行する道路の勾配または曲率に基づいて、走行状況識別画像を設定してもよい。このようにすれば、乗員は、道路の状況も把握することができる。
 実施形態の車両用走行案内装置は、車両100の前方に位置する障害物を検出する障害物検出部104をさらに備えて構成することができる。走行計画策定部103は、障害物検出部104が検出した障害物の有無または車両100と障害物との距離に応じて走行計画を策定して、自車両を駆動状態と制動状態とのいずれかに設定してもよい。
 このようにすれば、障害物を考慮して走行計画を策定し、自車両を駆動状態と制動状態とのいずれかに設定することができるので、障害物が存在する可能性のある実際の道路状況に即して走行計画を策定して、走行状況識別画像を表示させることが可能となる。よって、乗員に、実際の道路状況に応じた正確な走行状況識別画像を提供することができる。
 図4においては、走行経路データ生成部101が走行経路データD101を生成して走行経路データ保持部17に保持する構成を示している。車両100が走行する予定走行経路が決まっている場合には、走行経路データ生成部101を設ける必要はない。予め設定した走行経路データD101を保持する走行経路データ保持部17を有すればよい。
 走行計画策定部103は、地図データD12に含まれる制限速度情報D12sに基づいて車両100の車速計画を策定している。制限速度情報の入手方法は地図データD12からの入手に限定されない。
 例えば、車両100が走行する道路の近傍に、それぞれの道路の制限速度情報を無線送信する送信装置を設け、車両100に搭載した受信装置で制限速度情報を受信してもよい。
 車両100は自動運転車両でなくてもよく、運転者が運転する通常の車両であってもよい。
 以上のようにして、実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法は、自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を、自車両の駆動状態(駆動力)と自車両の制動状態(制動力)との少なくとも一方に対応した表示形態でモニタ18に表示することができる。実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法は、自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を、自車両の加速状態(加速度)と自車両の減速状態(減速度)との少なくとも一方に対応した表示形態でモニタ18に表示することができる。
 このように、本発明の車両用走行案内装置及び方法は、以上説明した実施形態の車両用走行案内装置及び方法に限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲において種々変更可能である。
 本発明は、車両の乗員に、予定走行経路を駆動状態または加速度を有する走行状態と、制動状態または減速度を有する走行状態とのいずれで走行するのかを案内する車両用走行案内装置に利用できる。

Claims (13)

  1.  自車両の予定走行経路を設定する予定走行経路設定部と、
     設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を表示する表示部と、
     を有し、
     前記経路画像は、前記自車両の駆動力及び/または制動力に対応した表示形態で前記表示部に表示されることを特徴とする車両用走行案内装置。
  2.  自車両の予定走行経路を設定する予定走行経路設定部と、
     設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を表示する表示部と、
     を有し、
     前記経路画像は、前記自車両の加速度及び/または減速度に対応した表示形態で前記表示部に表示されることを特徴とする車両用走行案内装置。
  3.  前記経路画像における前記駆動力に対応した表示形態と前記制動力に対応した表示形態とは視覚的に異なることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  4.  前記経路画像における前記加速度に対応した表示形態と前記減速度に対応した表示形態とは視覚的に異なることを特徴とする請求項2記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  5.  前記駆動力に対応した表示形態と前記制動力に対応した表示形態とは色が異なることを特徴とする請求項3記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  6.  前記加速度に対応した表示形態と前記減速度に対応した表示形態とは色が異なることを特徴とする請求項4記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  7.  前記経路画像は、半透明の画像であることを特徴とする請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  8.  前記経路画像は、前記自車両の加速度と減速度とコースト状態とのそれぞれに対応した表示形態で前記表示部に表示されることを特徴とする請求項2,4,6のいずれか1項に記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  9.  前記経路画像は、前記自車両が加速状態にあるコースト状態と減速状態にあるコースト状態とのそれぞれに対応した表示形態で前記表示部に表示されることを特徴とする請求項8記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  10.  前記経路画像の幅は、最小で前記自車両のステアリングの制御誤差による前記自車両のぶれに相当する幅とし、最大で前記自車両の幅に前記制御誤差による前記自車両のぶれに相当する幅を加えた幅であることを特徴とする請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  11.  前記経路画像の前記自車両が走行する方向の長さは、前記自車両の車速が速いほど長く表示されることを特徴とする請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の車両用走行案内装置。
  12.  自車両の予定走行経路を設定するステップと、
     設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を表示部に表示するステップと、
     を有し、
     前記経路画像は、前記自車両の駆動力及び/または制動力に対応した表示形態で前記表示部に表示されることを特徴とする車両用走行案内方法。
  13.  自車両の予定走行経路を設定するステップと、
     設定された自車両の予定走行経路に対応する経路画像を表示部に表示するステップと、
     を有し、
     前記経路画像は、前記自車両の加速度及び/または減速度に対応した表示形態で前記表示部に表示されることを特徴とする車両用走行案内方法。
