Abstract

The Contour Cube is the first ice mould of its kind, designed for the purpose of facial application as part of an individual's skincare routine. The mould is a silicone (note, rubber or plastic can also be used) to freeze liquid in a unique cylindrical shape designed to access hard-to-reach areas of the face. The Contour Cube is made of two key parts: the lid/top (1), and the base (2). The two parts are held together by interlocking ribs on the base. The lid/top (4) interlocks with the base which features protruding ribs (3). The base also features a concave indent on the rear to assist with separating the two parts once liquid is frozen within it (5). In addition, the base features a heart-shaped hole at the bottom of the base (6) for the vessel to be filled with liquid. The unique external geometric patterns ensure gripping the ice is made easy for users.

Description

CONTOUR CUBE - FACIAL ICE MOULD DESCRIPTION: FACIAL ICE MOULD (CONTOUR CUBE)
[0001] The Contour Cube is a silicone based mould designed to freeze liquid to be shaped into a novel dome-like, cylindrical shaped icicle for the purpose of facial application. There are no tools currently available in the market for the purpose of facial icing. This invention has been uniquely designed to sculpt the contours of your face and access hard-to-reach areas in a convenient manner. In addition, its bespoke external geometric patterns ensure users are able to grip ice easily.
[0002] The two-part silicone ice mould is a rounded rectangular shape with a geometric exterior and interior surface with a matte finish on the outside and gloss interior to assist with separating the two parts. Note, alternate material such as plastic and rubber material can be used. The interior of the mould has a geometric design and once frozen it has a crystal-like finish. At the base, there is a heart-shaped hole to fill with liquid and the Contour Cube logo is debossed into the base of the silicone mould. There are ribs on the base of the mould to connect and hold the two parts together when filled with liquid. The mould is designed with a flat base, allowing it to stand upright when placed in a freezer. There is also an indent in the rear to assist in separating the two parts once frozen. The ice formed by the mould is a cylindrical shape that can be used on either end. Once one side of the dome has been used, it can be flipped around to the other side. The mould is designed to be refillable for multiple use.
Figure 1 and 2 is the two parts of the Contour Cube fixed together. The front base has the logo debossed and the back has an indent to help remove the lid.
Figure 3 is the top lid of the Contour Cube with no ribs on the internal rim
Figure 4 features the base of the Contour Cube displaying the ribs protruding on the lip. It also features the concave indent on the rear base, which assists removing the lid once liquid is frozen within it.
Figure 5 (front) and Figure 6 (rear) show the Contour Cube interlocked.
Figure 7 (left) and 8 (right) show the side profile of the interlocked Contour Cube.
Figure 9 (aerial view: base, exterior), displays matte exterior with geometric pattern and flat base to stabilise the product allowing it to stand vertically. It also features the heart shaped hole at the base.
Figure 10 (aerial view: base, interior) shows the glossy concave interior with geometric pattern, featuring the heart-shaped hole and concave indent at the rear.
Figure 11 (aerial view: top, exterior) shows the matte exterior with geometric pattern, featuring a flat top for the lid.
Figure 12 (aerial view: top/lid, interior) shows the glossy concave interior with geometric pattern, featuring interlocking lip.
Figure 13 shows the lip and base separated prior to interlocking.
Figure 14 displays an x-ray view of the exterior shell and interior cylindrical vessel.
Figure 15 displays an x-ray view of top/lid and base interlocked.

Claims (1)

1. A facial applicator consisting of an ice mould for the purpose of facial application and skincare: the mould is in two parts being a base and a lid;
the mould has a rounded rectangular shape and defines a mould cavity to form an elongate paddle shaped rounded rectangular ice block; the base connects with the lid at a middle region of the mould so that the base defines one end of the rounded rectangular cavity and the lid defines the other end of the rectangular cavity;
the base includes a circumferential lip and the lid includes a circumferential flange which surrounds the lip of the base to connect the base with the lid; the bottom of the base includes a flat region to allow it to stand upright and a small fill hole is provided in the flat region of the base; the top of the lid is flat and the lid is arranged to connect to the base to contain liquid in the mould; the mould is arranged to be filled with liquid through the fill hole in the base and stood inverted resting on its flat top in a freezer; once the liquid has frozen to form ice the lid is able to be separated from the base, the base forms a paddle shaped handle portion to allow the ice to be gripped and applied to the face of a user and the handle portion protects the hand of the user from coming into direct contact with the ice.
2. A facial applicator according to claim 1 wherein the lip of the base includes protruding ribs which connect with the flange of the lid.
3. A facial applicator according to either of claims 1 or 2 wherein the base includes a concave indent to assist in removal of the lid from the base.
