Tensioning device for a traction cable (3) of a traction funicular and hoist with a measuring arrangement (7) of the tensioning force of the cable (3) and an adjusting device for the actuation of the tensioning device wherein the measuring arrangement (7) coupled with the adjusting device (9) is located in the opposite station (6) (station with the fixed motor device or station with the direction changing wheel).
