Abstract

The device provides for an aesthetic and inexpensive opening in a roof, e.g. for roof ventilation or roof surface penetration, if an insert (8) with a catchment area to trap and lead away deposits and dirt entering through the aperture (12) is fitted beneath the roof component and substantially parallel to the roof component plane, if the insert (8) has at least one penetration aperture (30) and if the penetration aperture (30) is offset sideways in relation to the catchment area (22) and/or upwards from said catchment area (22).
