ORIGINAL
COMPLETE SPECIFICATION PETTY PATENT Invention Title: SEAED FOR ET CONVEYER......
t I:'*.The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best i:.:*method of performing it known to me:- Presently, the both ends of a belt conveyer roller are covered with o various sealing devices which can keep out dust reasonablly well, but V I due to the structural eft, they can not keep out water. When the roller turns, rain water or some corrosive liquid can not only corrode I I exposed ends of axle but also easily permeat into the bearings *6 Besides, when servicing the roller, one has to take off the sealing S I devices and bearings on both ends from the roller tube, wash them with oil and put them back again, which is very time and energy consuming.
pphe. f this newi..nvention. is to improve the structure form of sealing devices at the roller ends to raise the sealability and to protect the ends of the axle.
The purpose is realized as following: Put the outer sealing cover directly on the end of the axle and let its inner and outer circles interlock with those on the outer side of the bearing housing to form a maze like sealed groove which is spread o I I -2all over with grease. On the contacting surfaces of the inner and outer circles of both outer sealing cover and the bearing housing, dust proof foamed plastic rings soaked with grease are fixed. In the inner opening of the axle end, a grease cup is fixed and through the cup, axial grease path, radial grease path and the grease store room, the lubricate grease can reach the inside of the bearings. The bearing housing is fixed into the recession of the roller tube with sealing glue spread on both contacting surfaces. (If the bearing bousing and the roller tube are made of nylon, a glue for aylon can be used).
When a roller with this new invention at work, no matter static or turning, the dust, rain water and corrosive liquid can not pass inbetween the contacting surfaces of the roller tube and the bearing housing, and not the maze like sealed groove as well. This all sealed structure form effectively protects the ends of the axle and the bearings, prolongs the maintenance cycle and reduces the cost. This type of roller is especially practical in a more corrosive working environment. The maintenance work is also much simplified. One should only take off the outer sealing cover, change the dust proof rings clean the sealed groove, inject new grease and put back the S* sealing cover.
The structure of the new invention is explained with the illustration as following: 9* .9 e The roller tube (10) and the bearing housing are matched in a recession structure and sealing glue spread on both of the contacting surfaces. The bearing housing is fixed up with ciclip and one-side, dust-proof, 'covered bearing The outer sealing cover tightly covers the end of the axle (11) and the inner and outer circles of the sealing cover interlock with those on the outer side of the bearing housing to form a maze like sealed groove, and on the contacting surfaces of the inner and outer circles of both outer sealing cover and the bearing housing, the dust proof foamed plastic sealing rings are fixed. At assembling, lubricate grease is spread inside the groove and the sealing rings are soaked with grease. At the inner opening of the axle end (11) a grease cup is fixed and leads to the axial grease path radial grease path and the grease store room At maintenance, one can take off the sealing cover and inject grease into the grease cup and the grease will reach the grease store room (12) and the bearings through axial grease path and radial grease path clean and spread new grease on the bearing housing the inner and outer circles on the outer side of the bearing housing and of the outer sealing cover fix the dust proof rings (4 of different sizes) on the contacting surfaces of the inner and outer circles of both outer sealing cover and the bearing housing; put the outer sealing cover back to the axle end (11).
3- For this new structure, the axle is made of metal; grease cup bearing (9) and circlip are standardised; the roller tube (10) can be made of either metal or non metal; and the bearing housing and the outer sealing cover are made of non metal materials. The sizes of the parts depend on those of the belt conveyers. One drawing of the structure is attached.

Claims (1)
- 9- The claims defining the invention a- as follows: 1. A maze like sealing cover for belt conveyer roller consists of an outer sealing cover(l) with projecting inner and outer circles on its inner side, and a bearing housing(8) which has projecting inner and outer circles on its outer side and is matched with roller tube(10) in recession structure, with the inner and outer circles of the outer sealing cover interlocking with those on the outer side of the bearing housing to form a maze like sealed groove. 6O a 2. The maze like sealing cover of claim 1 wherein the contacting surfaces of the inner and outer circles of both the S outer sealing cover and the bearing housing are seated with dust proof foamed plastic rings(6) soaked in grease(total 4 of e* different sizes). 3. The maze like sealing cover of claim 1 wherein the contacting surfaces of the roller tube(10) and the bearing housing(8), which can be made of non metal material, are sealed together with sealing glue. b 0 S. S S 0 ABSTRACT This invention relates to improvement in sealing devices for belt conveyer roller. When the roller with this invention at work, no matter static or moving, the dust, rain water and collo- sive liquid can neither permeat into inbetween the contacting surfaces of the roller tube and the bearing housing, nor the maze like sealed groove. This all sealed structure form effectively protects the axle end and bearing, prolongs the maintainance cycle and reduces the cost. It is especially S practical in the more collosive working environment. Its maintainance is also much simplified. One should only take off the outer sealing cover, get rid of the dirts, change the sealing rings, inject the new grease and put back the sealing cover. S o S
