Abstract

The invention relates to an element (1) which can be inserted into the diskette (or cassette) unit of an EDP device, comprising an interface (8) which is constructed in such a manner that a data transmission between the EDP device and the element (1) can be carried out via the read/write device which exists in any case in the EDP device; to increase the variety of possible applications and uses of the element (1), it is proposed that the element (1) is equipped with a component (2, 12, 13) which is outside the EDP device in the inserted state and which itself comprises EDP components and/or EDP devices and/or is constructed as device for connecting further EDP devices. <IMAGE>
